Took an uber for the first time today in 4 years. At a left turn on Rupert/E 4X, we almost got tboned. Uber driver took a left on a yellow and narrowly dodged a car. The car that almost hit us, proceeded to hit someone who was making a right turn on the red.

The thread is another sign RS is getting old. Lol

coneZONE 07-13-2024 07:46 AM

Need to add an air horn under hood. Like commercial trucks, they have air horn and a city horn for beep beep.

This one for sure! In my experience it's always the people with two hands on the wheel and their seat super forward. They're so focused on the road, I really feel like they're trying, but they have little awareness because they're only focused on the road in front of them.

RS isn't getting old, it IS old.

I had RS on my computer at work and one of the 20 year olds asked, hey what kind of website is that, why does it look so old. LOL. The UI/UX of this website is reminiscent of a simpler time.

Online forums overall are a dying format. Many of the old forums I frequented are now all dead.

Mikoyan 07-13-2024 01:37 PM

Then you have to worry about this shit too:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/briti...mond-1.7252509

Police in Richmond, B.C., are seeking witnesses to a serious incidence of road rage in which a car passenger allegedly pulled out a gun and shot at the driver of a van.

Richmond RCMP say the driver of the van wasn't hit but was injured by shattered glass from the vehicle's window in the Friday evening shooting at the intersection of Alderbridge Way and Lansdowne Road.

Police say the victim was driving a white Mercedes van when a white Kia cut him off.

When the van driver pulled alongside the Kia and shouted at the driver, a person in the Kia's passenger seat took out a gun and started shooting, according to police.

Should start a RS group buy.

Badhobz 07-13-2024 01:45 PM

excellent. makes sense.

I'm staying away from all Korean cars now. their low credit scores are dangerous to be around.

whitev70r 07-13-2024 01:57 PM

Damn .. that road rage story in Richmond!

Shouldn't be hard to nab the gangster in the Kia nowadays with cameras everywhere.

Just witnessed an accident while I was out driving today, so I uploaded my dashcam footage to YouTube, and filed an ICBC witness report online. While I was filling out the witness report, the incident description section was constantly decimating the URL of my YouTube video. Apparently it does not like any punctuations other than commas and periods. Every time I did anything in the textbox -- moving the curor, typing, etc. some of the punctuation in the URL would go missing.

In the end, this meant I could not include the URL in my witness report at all. In this day and age, that is just a massive failure on ICBC's part. FailFish

68style 07-13-2024 06:05 PM

Just my experience with ICBC in the past, they need the actual files so as to rule out them being edited or tampered with.

Traum 07-13-2024 06:27 PM

It's odd because I have submitted a few of these online witness reports before, and was able to include a URL in my filing. One time, a case manager reached out to me via email and asked for the URL again, but that was only because they were thoroughly confused, knowing that I had dashcam footage, but still somehow did not have access to it, even though it had been included in my witness report.

Oh well... I did my part. If they want the contents, they'd have to reach out to me. Ball's in their court now.

SSM_DC5 07-13-2024 09:42 PM

Why would they want the contents? Without it they get to say 50:50 and raise both premiums.:lawl:

GS8 07-13-2024 10:23 PM

It doesn't help that for years, car commercials have been telling people that they can drive like primordial retards but it's okay because the car will save them!

What we need are more white Teslas crashing on HWY 1 HOV near Kensington and / or Alex Fraser Racetrack I mean bridge!

Last year when I had dashcam footage of a red light runner hitting a left turner, ICBC was cool with just the YouTube link.Maybe it's different when you're just submitting a witness claim. I wasn't involved in the incident.

Adjuster called to pass on thanks from the left turner as the red light runner was 100% at fault.

Weird, I've always uploaded my dashcam footage on youtube and sent them the link. I secretly keep tabs on how many views to see if they've been looked at. lol.

Sadly, I also have a growing collection of dashcam videos with accidents, since I made an account dedicated for just sharing evidence videos.

I say this with my friends a lot, if I were to hire someone for any job; I’d want them to observe them driving first lol

Qmx323 07-16-2024 10:12 AM

Stop sign? Not for me.

Turn signals? Never let them know your next move.

Shoulder check? That's not my fucking problem.

Speed limit? No limits baby, its 2024.

Some woman and her kid in a newer X5 today coming out of Costco.. fucking clown is driving 30km/hr -everywhere- she waited at least 15 vehicles in that round about exiting Costco.. finally I’m like what in the fuck…

She then proceeds to merge onto Willingdon by McDonald’s (I seem to have a thing for this spot) and then cut me off trying to get back onto the merge Lane.. I finally speed up beside her where there’s 2 lanes and honk and give her a WTF look?!?!?

I then pass her and watch her cut off ANOTHER person trying to get around her completely fucking oblivious to her surroundings just doing whatever whenever Jesus fuck.. get off the road ffs.

Badhobz 07-16-2024 06:44 PM
