Like, their food and ambience might be pretty and all, but the flavor is average at best.
It rare now that I'd go into a resto and I said, wow, this is quite decent.
The last one that came to mind was Lorette Brasserie in Whistler. Like I went in without much expectation other than it was close to where I was staying. But food was actually decent and quite refreshing on their take on some food. It wasn't wow because some plates were meh. But overall, I gave it a 8.5 and had been back already.
The other one I'd recommend is not fancy. But it reminds me of those hole in the wall places that were more prominent back in the 2000s where food was the center stage. Lao Cai in West Van. They also have location in Surrey and Richmond (just opened) but I haven't tried them. But the West Van one is legit.

1) Barbecue Iberico Pork, Yellow Mountain Honey
2) Hanami cocktail was great and so was their Soy Sauce Ice Cream, it's been signature and never been off the menu.
Lastly, Mott 32 duck is not HK peking duck. 
I yell and mock them a lot. HK peking duck is actually eating the skin. 
Yes i miss the soggy chips LOL
Beijing / shanghai / Mott are entire duck sliced whcih is very different. Not "PIN PAY" duck at all.
Even QJD Peking Duck... both suck.. cause it's not HK skijn duck.

Well... to be fair, only Hong Kong calls it "pin pei" duck, as in, sliced duck skin. Beijing style really just calls it "roast duck", and then they serve up slices of skin + fat + meat like you've shown above.

I liked Mott32. But yeah, way too expensive. The wok friend noodles with beef were super good, but I think it was something crazy like $50.
If you guys are interested in amazing food in a dumpy place, try Tour de Feast in North Van.
Ok. calling it "dumpy" is harsh. It's just very plain. Feels more like a sandwich spot located in an industrial area. Wine list is meh.
But the food was very, very good. The chef knows how to cook high end French cuisine.

I have been to influenzer restaurants before (by invitation, not choice)
And the whole experience and atmosphere made me wish I'd die of botulism right on their floor.

A buddy mentioned to me that he and his family went to Mott32 one time
for dim sum. He said that the food is good but overpriced.
You want siu mai, the pork dumplings? That is Spanish pork in the dumplings. Friend said at the time the siu mai is 20 bucks for four dumplings in one order.
-gotta pay more for the imported Spanish pork.

Former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding has been arrested after years on the run, according to reporting from NBC News.
Wedding, 44, was wanted for allegedly running a vast transnational drug‑trafficking organization that investigators say moved staggering quantities of cocaine across the U.S.–Mexico border. American officials have accused him of overseeing a pipeline capable of importing roughly 60 metric tons of cocaine per year into the Los Angeles area using semitrucks operating out of Mexico.
The FBI had elevated Wedding to its Ten Most Wanted list in March, placing a $15‑million reward on information leading to his arrest or prosecution — one of the highest bounties ever offered for a fugitive with Canadian ties.
FBI Director Kash Patel publicly compared Wedding to notorious cartel leaders such as Pablo Escobar and Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán, citing both the volume of drugs allegedly moved and the violence associated with the organization.
While officials have not yet disclosed where or how Wedding was apprehended, NBC News reports that multiple agencies were involved in the operation.
Patel is expected to uncover details of Wedding’s arrest at a press conference scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday.
Wedding represented Canada in snowboarding at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. After his athletic career ended, investigators say he turned to organized crime, building a narcotics empire that U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi described as “one of the most prolific and violent drug-trafficking organizations in this world

The compound itself is 2,4-dithiapentane, it's derived from petroleum and is the primary component that makes our feet smell.

A good substitute for truffle oil is truffle tapenade (ones that have actual truffle in them, not oil).
I use that quite often.
Some of the wop shops like Bosa Foods has it.
