My GF's Asian girlfriends all started indoctrinating all that "provider", "traditional Asian style cost arrangement" narratives in her head as we've been going through our issues. The funny thing, all of these women are single and can't keep a man for more then a few months at a time based on their unrealistic expectations, it's like the blind leading the blind.

Gerb's problem is that he only likes Asian chicks, and specific kind at that, which is silly.

A positive relationship is a partnership, not someone having a dependent, especially when both parties make good income and have commensurate earning potential. It's the only way you can get ahead in a city like Vancouver in 2026.

Run away from women with those unrealistic expectations, it will only result in resentment.

A friend of mine got back together with their fiance after realizing she didn't care about the "provider" and "as he should" movement. Realized it was all his single gf's + social media brain washing her to obtain a certain type of dude.


I'd date all asians + white if I could pull. Historically it's been only 80% chinese/korean

So back on topic.

I did my Dexa today and it came back at 24.8% body fat, which is within expectation for me as I was guesstimating 25-28%.

I'm below average for all metrics (towards negative side of the scale) but within range. Only outlier for me was bone density which took me by surprise a little.

Here's where I have certain reservations. On the image included I could very clearly see between my legs it was reading my scrunched up shorts as fat. I already chose a less baggy pair of shorts but it still read like that. I also have questions on how well calibrated the machine is as I am of the mind that this is like a dyno for a car. Every machine is going to read differently and it probably isn't good idea to compare your results across different machines.

Another bit I thought was interesting was it read me as 162lbs. On a scale I weigh in at 172 (yesterday at the gym) with shoes and a sweater and my phone. Even if you take everything off I'm not carrying 10lbs of dead weight, maybe 5lbs. My friend who went with me registered 4-5lbs below his scale weight, but I think he weighs at home without shoes. So the DEXA scan is reading about 5lbs avg below a typical scale.

At first we were like, we'll do this again in a year. But we might do it in a shorter time frame. They said they are looking to open one around Brentwood soon so hopefully less sketchy part of town.

So while I have the mentality of taking the data with a bit of salt, I think I am going to focus on bone density as it's a strong determination of health as I age.

FWIW, re: weight - they reported me at 170lbs with a "machine scanned weight" of 168.6lb which matched my expectation (my at home morning weigh in had me at 169 that day). I was wearing a pair of khaki pants and a t-shirt and re-looking at my scan mine looks alright.

Complained about the same and he said use it as a before/after tool and not a conclusion.

But I had half my head cut off, the machine can only read up to 190CM lmao
