if u get it tapered and hem, it might not come out the way you want. IMO i would just buy a brand new pair with the specific style and right size. They aren't that expensive....unless u want the special denim ones where their mix with some other fabric.

66 is a really good price for a pair of N&F. People usually don't hem already raw denim since they want the stacking effect on the denim.

But if they're too big for you, I suggest you pass on them. Denim has to fit right!

I only thought about it the first few weeks I was wearing them. After that I didn't really think about it much and time just flew. I also like sitting in class with my legs crossed so that helped. Actually the hardest part are the thigh whiskers not the lap ones. Those never came to me so you'll only see very little and very light ones.

I got the Somet 008 so its 13.8oz. Still so constricting and stiff and crunchy now :D

If you're only wearing them 2 times a week and you're not doing anything intense in them, you're basically never going to get fades until after 4 years of wear lol. You have to try and wear em as much as possible and wear them hard for more noticeable results.

Washing your raws is just up to you. Its not rocket science people. If their dirty and grimey, wash them, if they feel fine, then you can keep on wearing them.

The 6 month rule is so vague that i dont think anyone should follow it. I mean if you wore them for 2 months and you ended spilling beer all over it, its time for a soak.

lets say you wore them twice a week, so that's 8 times every month and its been 21 months. that's 168 times, so about 5 and a half months.

that's close to the "6 months" requirement. you should wash em. take before and after pics =D

washing doesnt do anything other than lighten the color.
the lines wont necessarily show more prominently because you wash em.

i dont do a first wash until they already look pretty good. no miraculous changes happen after the wash.

Don't wash them just to see fades! Like unit said it only lightens the color overall. It will look the same but lighter.

And to get any fades at all you must wear them A LOT. Everyday is good. I was so pissed at myself that I spent so much money on Rock & Republic, True Religion and those crap that after I sold them and when I got my APCs I said I'd make this one pair worth it and wore them everyday.

^No, there is no 'cheap' place to get N&F. Dutil is one of the best denim shops for N&F, I would definitely go check them out.

The only time I saw cheap N&F was at Boy's Co during their Summer Sale, and that was probably because people who shop at Boy's Co, don't look at N&F, instead, they look for R&R etc etc...

Wait out till December, that's when Dutil will have their legendary boxing day sale, and I would say it was worth the wait! :)

sorta. spills weren't really a problem. i've had mustard, beer and all sorts of stuff spilled on it, though all small areas. most of the time any stains would just disappear when it dried or in the case of mustard, crust over and then i could just rub it out. as for right time, i was holding out for the "sand and wash it in the ocean" method. but then i realized that was kind of stupid. really the deciding factor was i went backpacking in europe and had to wear it in some clubs that had no a/c. in vancouver this isn't a problem, since i'd just air it out outside the next day. when travelling the jeans just stayed balled up in my backpack. i decided i'd wash it after being grossed out at a few days of wearing them for consecutive nights w/o airing them out.

I had to wash mine because of stains. I spilled ketchup around the crotch area of my ironhearts. I tried wiping it off with a wet cloth but after it dried the stain turned kinda white and made it look like a jizz stain.

yeah that's the thing. after 3 years, most of the fading was already done even before i washed it. i had a crotch blowout (though i did have about a 4 mo period where i was cycling almost everyday) , but that's easily repaired. the only problem i foresee now is the honeycombing is starting to lead to holes.

Don't do it. I had Nudies for a week before I changed my mind and bought my APCs.

And then a few months after I went for Somets because I felt that the APCs were a bit flimsy.

Get a good high quality pair that will last you so you won't have any regrets or the itch to upgrade or get something better. Invest in stuff like Skulls, Samurai, Flat Head, Iron Heart, Somet. Do some research and buy a pair that you'll love and you won't have to buy again for a loooooong time.

Wearing a pair of Naked and Famous X Loveless for ...3 weeks or so, love them. I tried on apcs and really they didn't feel better then my old pair of weird guys which resulted in me purchasing another pair. I don't know if anyone ever answered the question on sizing for N&F vs. Nudies but my nudies are size 29 and my N&F are size 30. you shouldn't get paranoid - just gotta try to keep it clean. if you change your underwear, it's fine. if it starts to smell, hang it outside on a damp day, or throw it in the freezer overnight (you'd be surprised how well that works).

Theyre Natural Indigo Selvedge although they do look like the deep indigo youre right. I'd say they fade a lot slower compared to my friends Nudies etc. But I have a pair of APCs I wear on special nights and they fade just as slow i'd say. I think I wanna go 2 years then wash em haha.

I've got more muscular thighs but otherwise if you're skinny it'll fit fine.

Stiff at first, but wear them for a day or two and it'll soften up and be reallllllllly comfortable.

If they are using the same system as last time, they will usually say, tags with yellow dot, or blue dot, or whatever color dot will have X% off. Some of the Nudies and Naked and Famous are 20% off. There are some good discounts on some Edwins, and I think 35% off from earnest sewn and ksubi? I'm not too sure. Cheap Monday's are $49.99 for 1, or $89.99 for two.

As for TIMES, they have already taken out their Naked and Famous profile, so it is just random denim in there (assuming it's from Dutil's stock). They will probably have a new profile after boxing day (I am assuming). Overally, it doesn't seem to be THAT enticing....I would rather wait it out till Boxing day! :)

On Boxing day, Dutil usually has some specials for the first people who line up. Last year they had some crazy deals like free pair of Nudies or Naked and Famous jeans... I forgot. But that's for people who are willing to line up to be at least first 5 people in line or something.

As for other things, I remember they had around 20-40% off jeans like Nudies, Naked and Famous, Levis, Edwins, etc etc. Which were pretty good deals. However, most people went into the backroom, where they just had boxes according to sizes of random jeans they put in. If I remember correctly, it was REALLY cheap, I think they had the denominations where if you buy 1 its $x, if you buy 2 its $x, etc etc. All I know is that I got Rag and Bones for 28$ that retailed at around $289.99 REAL TALK I got receipt to prove it. So there are some hidden goodies in those boxes. But, those boxes mostly had Cheap Mondays....

Gotta admit though, Boxing day at Dutil is probably the best place to go look for jeans. Not a lot of people know of Dutil so the line-ups were not that bad. However........You might have to try on jeans in a tent that they set up on the street in front of the doors! I would probably hit up Dutil on Boxing Day. From what I remember, I went at around 11am - 12ish and I lined up for... 10-15 minutes? Wasn't that bad.

I lined up with an eraser gift wrapped on Boxing Day and got 50% off APC New Standards. So win. But then again I got there at like 4 when they opened at like 1030 or 11. Overkill.

yeah they do, i don't think they have any pretreated nudies. they don't have many fits though, or many colours. pretty much only the average joe in the dark indigo with the bronze stitch, lots of sizes though. i found a few black pairs in the mix (not many), with black stitch. didn't bother looking at the fit since i don't like black nudies

also, in the smaller sizes they even had some selvage nudies hidden in the mixes. only came in one fit though (regular alf or average joe, one of the two but don't remember which) and wasn't really a fan of the colour

Went to dutil at like 4:30ish, nothing major.... Was thinking of grabbing a random pair of nudies for $100 but decide to hold off. I went to holt and managed to find n&f frankensteins for 79$!!! So gooooood. Jeans were around 80-130$ at holt, they had a lot at 5:00pm ish. No jeans at times profile, and the boxes in the back of dutil mainly had earnest sewn... The n&f jeans at dutil were 30% off.

Well, they had all kind of random jeans... I saw some Nudies, some G-Star, some Naked and Famous (that's what I actually tried to look for so I didn't see any other brands). Most were priced along that range. I think the Nudies I saw were around 139 or something. Everything is marked down. I saw my Frankensteins in my size and I immediately went ":fuckyea:".

I think I grabbed the last Frankensteins they had. I didn't really see any other ones. But for Naked and Famous, they had some Flannel, Cashmere (I think the cashmere stretch ones were around 130$? Not entirely sure), and they had a bunch of random N&F. At least 1 or 2 jeans per size probably?

I don't know when the sale at HR ends... But it was for boxing day so I would imagine for a couple more days? Again, not sure :P

i had a pair of average joes and slim jims before i bought the avg joes at the sale. i checked them out at the sale with what i knew, looked legit, so i bought them. went home and double checked a few days later w/ the two pairs i already have and everything was pretty much on par. checked the usual legit/fake nudie stuff, back pockets, tabs, rivets, etc

might've just been the one pair you saw? though i doubt they'd just have one pair of nudies kicking around

I recently sat on gum on my N&F's. Tried the freezer and picking the gum off trick, unfortunately it smeared on the jeans so it wasn't a complete piece so I couldn't pick it all off. Anyone know how to remove the smears and what not that are deep into the threads of the jeans? As these are raw jeans I do not want to wash them and I am not sure of any other methods for raw denim...

Not familiar with N&F but from what I've heard most people go down 2 sizes because they stretch out quite a lot. I think all N&F's are all sanforized so don't soak them.
