the bird strike must be intense
normally the engine is wayy powerful than the bird, unless the bird jammed the engine

I've had some close calls at Boundary Bay... damn seagulls and eagles! Fuckin white-knuckle take-offs LOL.

Actually it's quite easy for a bird to damage an engine... It takes just 1 small bird and the engine goes poof.

Yup, it was a flock but the chances of both engines failing is remarkable.

Props to the ferry boats that swarmed the plane and got everyone off so fast.
the rescue pics were amazing.
It's so rare for the plane to actually land intact into the water.
I mean the chances of this kind of accident happening with this survival rate is one in millions.

the said on CNN last night that it was a flock of canada geese. we all know how big they are... some expert the interview said launch a bunch of bowling balls into an engine under power and you get the idea of the damage it can do.
so...
canada geese = WMD
next thing you know homeland security will label all of canada terrorists because of this jk |

Most of the news these days are negative. It's actually pretty nice to have people calling the pilot a "HERO". We see soo many murderers, corporate criminals etc. It's nice to have a story about someone that saved people's lives.
