Gabe Newell pretty much hinted Valve was going to work on the next CS after Dota2

I dont know about an updated source engine, was a huge fan but I would rather that they finish HL Ep 3 first then take some time to develop a next-gen engine and roll out HL3 and CS at the same time...that will take a long time but I'm willing to wait as I know Valve can execute it even better as a true sequel.

Damn can't wait to see the preview tomorrow. CS1.6 and CSS is like my entire high school lol. Rush home from school, turn on comp, open vent, MIRC, start scrimming instead of doing homework lol.

With university, a job, side projects, it's going to be hard to get back into the competitive side of CS but it would still be a lot of fun to play. ESEA is a great league and service and hopefully it's fully supported in the new CS. I still remember the good old CAL and OGL days. Was so jealous when 3D or coL would win tournaments and get brand new video cards and computer stuff. Now with the somewhat boost in eSports hopefully CS will make it an even bigger impact.

It feels like computer gaming just got a much needed breath of air. All these games coming out are going to really make gamers move back to PC!

It depends on the map and how you play ... If it's a wide-open map, obviously silence isn't going to do you much good ... On a map with lots of walls where you can utilize stealth, the silencer can be of great help ...

CS > CSS. CS = More consistent, better hit boxes, and generally better competitive gameplay, but I hated the add-ons they put in for 1.6.

I found CSS was more enjoyable for general play plus the updated graphics were nice. Also, the servers that took advantage of the enhanced physics were quite fun.

I liked 1.3 best when you could bounce around freely ... Bouncing around dodging bullets w/ a pump shotgun = win ... Oh, and the beta when you could pick up guns from previous rounds ...

$7 a month per person for 10 people is a lot more expensive than getting 1 10 man server + a 20 man vent. Especially if it's just for inhouse pugs in ESEA.

ESEA is a really great league though and has some really good things going.

Bought all of the Counterstrikes off of Steam last night since I was unable to activate my old account. Played 1.6 for an hour or two and managed to do better than I was expecting, though my kd ratio was definitely not in my favor. Lots of hacking still going on, unfortunately. CSS is refusing to load as well, for some reason.

There's a couple settings you can change in your config, but I can't remember them off the top of my head. IIRC, rate 25000?

I used to be a clan member on Unity, but that was like over 5 years ago. I don't recognize anyone on there anymore ... Everyone that plays on that server is too damn good for me now... as soon as I see someone it's like insta-headshot on me ...:gun: ... I already ragequit quite a few times lol... there's lots of new "mod" servers now like GunGame and Zombie ...didn't even know what was going on... so when I joined a zombie game I was like :fulloffuck: cuz there were monsters that resembled the Abomination from Warcraft 3 running around the map LOL! ...

I got banned from a server yesterday on cs_italy because they were a bunch of fucking noobs accusing me of wallhacking (went like 31-2 on T). I've been playing CS since the fucking beta, I think I know where people hide, even after a 2-3 year hiatus from the game, and I use these things called headphones, so I can hear people when they run.

I even asked one of the guys who was accusing me of wall hacking how old he was, he said he was 16 and I was like, "Dude, I've been playing CS since before you were in Kindergarten. If you don't want to get shot through walls, use the fucking shift or control keys."

The funny thing was they banned me :moderatorban: after I shot the radio through the floor at T spawn because that was "proof." Shooting through the floor at an inanimate object that hasn't moved in over a decade = wall hax. I got banned from a server yesterday on cs_italy because they were a bunch of fucking noobs accusing me of wallhacking (went like 31-2 on T). I've been playing CS since the fucking beta, I think I know where people hide, even after a 2-3 year hiatus from the game, and I use these things called headphones, so I can hear people when they run.

I even asked one of the guys who was accusing me of wall hacking how old he was, he said he was 16 and I was like, "Dude, I've been playing CS since before you were in Kindergarten. If you don't want to get shot through walls, use the fucking shift or control keys."

The funny thing was they banned me :moderatorban: after I shot the radio through the floor at T spawn because that was "proof." Shooting through the floor at an inanimate object that hasn't moved in over a decade = wall hax. iron sights are part of the gun...not being able is silly these days. I played 1.6 for many years so I still don't use iron sights if I really dont need them...but I think it's necessary to evolve as shooter. Just because the game is competition oriented oesn't mean it should be excluded...perhaps exclude it in a hardcore mode?

Cover system may promote more camping...but it's honestly the key for a tactical shooter...maybe employ the system from the rainbow 6 vegas.

I think its pretty awsome they're reviving it, but there is one problem. This games popularity is also based on the fact that you dont need a supercomputer to run it, just like WoW. So i think less people will be playing because of that.

aiming seems fairly difficult..at least you cant burst fire and strafe at the same time like 1.6...my accuracy is like 1/2 of what it normally is in 1.6 :okay: i'll give it a try again with the default xhair...hitboxes are smaller so cs veterans will like it better

i haven't figured out if there's shortcuts to the buy menu but i dont like the circular menu.

game still needs some work but it's fun...i can understand why they charged $15..it's essential an 8 year old game but still looks decent if you max the video settings
