lol but it is true, You are only really winning 1 stat for sure with your stud goalies, gaa is a total toss up, as is shutouts. I probably have the worst goalies in the entire league, yet I'm 3-4 in gaa, andd 0-1-6 in shutouts. Hell I've even tied wins twice, not bad considering I'm rolling 2 backup goalies I found in the free agents. I was in 2nd last week lol til I got swept by luu, no one has pulled away in this pool, everyone is one bad week away from dropping out the playoffs.

I'd take it. Quick > Crawford, judging from what's happened, either Crawford/Emery will share starts or Emery takes the #1 role and runs with it. I'd probably try to get Emery in every league now.

Quick is the clear cut #1 with Bernier playing backup. IMO Lidstrom will outpoint Webber, the preds are a more defensive minded team.

Okay RS, I'm not part of your pool but I need some advice for mine:

One-year roto league, 7 teams with 17 players each. Currently in 3rd place with mostly my goalies holding me back.

Goalie stats: GS, W, GAA, SV%, SHO
Skater stats: G, A, P, +/-, PPP, SOG, FW, HIT, BLK

Prior to Lehtonen coming back from IR, I had Mike Smith, Ryan Miller, and Jonas Enroth filling in at different points in time and my GAA skyrocketed while my SV% dropped--out of the 7 teamss, I am sitting with 4.5 in GS, 2 in the other categories. I think I need a third goalie to stay competitive.

Current notable goalie FAs: Bryz, Miller, Smith, Giguere, Khabibulin

If I were to pick up an FA, who should I drop? I also have Green coming back so my roster is even more of a clusterfuck. What would be a suitable trade if I were to make a play for Luongo or Fleury?

Yea it should be the 18 seed. It's 6 skaters and 1 goalie you can keep, redraft rest of roster.

I'm currently sitting in one of the last 2 playoff spots but starting to think about retooling my roster for next year, hence the trade for Hodgson, my thinking, I would only be keeping 1 D between Campbell and Enstrom and wouldn't be keeping Stafford so I flipped the 2 and a pick for Cody, who I would keep as 1 of my 6 skaters. Campbell and Stafford helps Grandmaster Tse's team make a push this year, while I hope Cody helps me more next year. That and I'm a huge Sabres fan, so had to get Cody haha

Surprised that I haven't seen more trades like this, in my other keeper league, a lot of the bottom teams have begun trading for next season already. Another thing to keep in my in a keeper is don't overvalue high draft picks too much as most GMs would be keeping star players, so draft picks most of the time will be depth guys.

Well I'm trying to decide between Roy and Oshie for my last keeper spot for next season, I think either one of them would be worthy of a keeper position and better than most depth guys one could draft next year. Which team are you in the keeper pool?

The thing not to forget in a keeper pool, is that unless theres a Crosby, Ovie, RHN type NHL ready player stepping in right away from the NHL entry draft, most players you're looking at even in 1st round of keeper draft are depth type guys like Ladd, Grabner, etc... that other pool GMs won't be keeping.

Nope everyone gets 1st rd pick (unless they traded it), basically you're keeping 6 skaters and 1 goalie, so your 1st rd pick will be the 7th player added to your roster. Think of it this way, the players in the draft will be the ones that aren't the 6 skaters/1 goalie that each GM is keeping.

Yea thats why I think its fair to only allow for 1 goalie to be kept, in another keeper pool I'm in, you have some people keeping 2 goalies so some teams are totally fucked in the goalie category.

I think next season we should seriously consider booting those GMs that don't bother checking their teams, hell you could set your roster a week in advance and just check in once a week.

Can't agree more with you bout the booting out GM's who don't check their teams. But to be fair, it can get annoying esp when you're in 4 pools like I am to remember to set the rosters. Can we make it so every player is active or reduce the number of players we have so there isn't a bench anymore? And if you're still interested in Ribeiro, I can take you're first rounder and I'll give you back a higher draft pick plus Riberio in return since you gotta trade a draft pick when you get a draft pick in any trade.

Keeper pool guys, we should probably figure this out before playoffs end, draft positions for next season, the final 4 teams should get the bottom 4 picks and as many have suggested, there should be a lottery for the 1st pick? So say the bottom 4 teams maybe in the lottery? Thoughts?

Doesn't work in keeper leagues the players have to essentially stay the same(hence it being a keeper) but that should be the case for next years RS1. Bottom 4 or 5 teams in RS1 get's kicked out for next year.

A little difficult since our keeper commissioner seems to have stopped checking the pool months ago :facepalm: will have to try and get him to add me as a co-commissioner.

Actually I believe in keeper leagues, the commish can reassign team GMs, so new people would take over existing teams of the GMs that haven't been participating. Think of it kinda like the sale of a team or relocation like ATL to WPG haha

Because of the playoff format, I am going to finish 11th instead of 8th which is my actual rank based on wins.

Yup, there is an option to make it no playoffs. But from experience in non-playoff head to head pools you'll have even more GMs stop setting rosters late in year if they have no hope. H2H leagues are usually playoffs included to simulate the NHL team/league feel with playoffs, otherwise rotissiere league is the usual setting for no playoffs.

FYI the draft times are not set in stone yet, as I just threw up a draft time to get the pools up and running again. Chime in on preferred draft times please, keeping in mind to account for skinny being in Asia, I've heard points against evening draft times with some members having to work and evening weekends obviously people would not be home, so that was why the default was set initially in AM


RS2 points league is renewed as well now.
