Man playing defense is HARD this year. It looks like your teammate has control of the puck so you take one step up the ice. But your teammate loses it and it goes back the other way but because you took a step forward first, it takes a long time for you to gain momentum to go back the other way.


Almsot all the OTP games I played were breakaway fests lol.

So I just got a chance to play a few more games last night ... I'm getting tons of breakaways with Ovechkin and even Karlsson (sens offensive D) can blaze through the neutral zone to power towards the net if you can avoid the ridiculously effective poke check lol ...

The goalies seem to be better going side to side for one timers but it's pretty lame when I can power in on the side and just wrist it top shelf ... looks like I'll have to tweak the sliders again to make it harder to score ...
Online I'm slamming in like 5-6 goals average every game ... given that I give up a lot of goals too, it's kind of ridiculous for 5min periods ...

NHL12 I tweaked the sliders to (IMO) the perfect settings, playing 7min periods, getting around 20-30 SOG with the score being 3-1, 2-0, etc ... IMO more realistic instead of having 18 SOG and 5 goals like it is now. Only problem was the HIT registry and no penalties called... which is the same issue this year with the latter problem.

We’re deploying a change to EASHL Matchmaking around 2-2:30 AM PDT to loosen the search parameters a bit to help top end clubs match up against lower to mid-tier clubs more frequently. Lower leveled clubs will still be preferred to match with each other, just like Elite clubs will prefer to match with one another, however the cross over should happen more frequently than it was earlier. Top clubs may still not be able to find a match right away, however we hope the wait times will drop significantly. We can make further adjustments as necessary.

For the Elite Clubs: Having looked through the list of clubs in each region, it looks like NA East has the most clubs population, so for those outside of this region that can’t find games, you are able to change your club’s region in the GM Settings screen. Changing the region might help find a game more quickly given that there are more clubs on the East Coast, however your games will likely be laggy compared to your opponent. It’s advised that you do this only if you cannot find a club to match with within your own region first.

Five-hole seems to be the place to shoot right now from about 10 minutes of testing. Fake shot or toe drag, small change of direction, shoot five hole ... Scoring about 2 of 5 that way.

In order to boost up your player, you must continue to play drop in games or club games, as well as win them. Once you reach a certain amount of wins/ played games, as well as increased performance grading, you are awarded with attribute points that you can spend on boosting your player. It takes hella long to boost your player.

Or you oould spend $4 on a booster pack lol.

Go under 'My Pro' or My player, whatever it is, going off of memory here. Click on Edit Attributes. You are given points to boost up your initial stats. I have a feeling you haven't done that.

Once you use up your first wave of points, then, like mentioned above, you gotta play games, win them, and also get good grades. Everytime you unlock a card, you get more of those attribute points to distribute to your player.

Just reached superstar 3. Now to grind another 60 games to reach legend 1 lol. Once you hit superstar, this game gets really fun. Easiest way to score that I've found is to cut into the shot and whip wrister it the opposite direction of your stick hand.

Trade's are somewhat harder now.. It is not like NHL12 where pretty much I can trade Taylor Hall & 2 First Round Picks for Crosby or Stamkos. They put in a new feature where it shows what the team is willing to give away and who they want from your team. You can still go after the big star players but you have to give up a lot more now

Sorry I don't think I can take the trade of Hedman for Quick, I don't have any decent backup after Bernier and Quick literally saved my ass during an online match vs Fapper (Edmonton) ... Almost every eashl drop-in has rubber-banding problems. It's especially frustrating for playing defense. Is this the norm since there are usually 12 players connected... or does my internet blow? I'm thinking of moving my router a bit closer to the ps3.

My team lost in round 3 of elite playoffs because of SUPER lag! It was the worse way to go out. I don't understand why it was so laggy for us when it only matches us up with north west teams.

I just had an intense game as a goalie in EASHL, we were totally getting outshot 31 to 17 and the score was 3-3. I tried to hold the fort down as much as I could but we lost in double-OT after they had a 2 on 1 breakaway, the guy dangled our D and had a clear shot but he tapped it over to the other guy and I couldn't get across fast enough :(

It was definitely lots of fun ... I want to play more games as goalie but most people in Drop-In are scared that they will have a weak link goalie so they never want a human goalie and quit or tell me to switch. :pokerface:

I'm not claiming that I'm awesome at it but I think I'm decent and actually I've been making a lot of saves that, from my personal playing experience would blow right through the CPU controlled goalie. The goals I let in were from bad rebounds which... as far as I know is very difficult to control when they slap it at your pads from in-close?
