raw denim fades more when you sit? I always thought it faded due to the movement...

It's kinda both..

I'd imagine walking puts more stress around the knee area, and sitting puts more stress around the crotch, ass, and hip area.

I think walking puts more fading into the calf area.

I'd say sitting has more effect on putting creases in, but in order to get some combs you'd need to do something that constantly rubs the combs.

Just gave these a soak last night so here's another update on my daily project. It's definitely getting lighter throughout but my iphone doesn't show the full contrast. Definitely looks better irl.

Just picks up a pair of denim and I wanted to hem them, should I wash it first? Or it doesn't matter, its a pair of N&F jeans. Also where do you guys recommend to get raw denim hemmed

Don't wash. There's no point in investing $90-150 on a pair of raw denim only to wash it in its brand new untouched form. Hem it and leave plenty of room for stacking... honestly, the washing won't shrink it too much because once you start wearing them again, they will stretch out..

^ see previous page.. its your call if you wanna hem them or not. But you shouldn't wash your raws before wearing..

You can get them hemmed anywhere. it's just cut and sew. No different from hemming anything else.

hey guys... do you think it would be a safe bet for me to wash my n&f even though I'm only around 4 months in? Reason I ask is I'm starting to see what looks like the beginning of a crotch blowout... I see microtears on both sides of the seam...

from what i've heard, it's always "safe" to wash raw denim, especially if its reeking or about to blowout (bacteria and dirt wearing down that area)
