I think Canucks is one centre away into making this a deeper team.

IMO, if we keep Kesler with the Sedins, I feel more comfortable putting Santo as a 3rd line centre and Richardson as a 4th line centre. We can then roll 4 lines with our bottom 6 can play as well defensively and offensively.

Sedins - Kes
Booth _____ Hansen (I seriously hope booth gets it going and get some puck luck at the same time)
Higgins Santo Burrows (love how well this line plays)
Sestito Richardson Kassian

But we only have 600K in cap space. We can hope Shroeder can fill in that role.

Canucks need more than just a top 6 center. The problem we see over these past couple of years is the top 6. We only have 3/4 legit top 6 players with sedins, kesler, and maybe burr. We have so many tweeners in hansen, higgins, santorelli, kassian, and booth; but they're not actual top 6 players.

You're asking for something that every team wants. 2/3 top 6 players to add is basically a whole new second line. Assuming you mean at the expense of the guys you mentioned, that means you'd have to get cheaper in the bottom 6. That means you're getting real diamonds in the rough, crappy players that no team wants, or kids in the orgainization.

With that, the Canucks will never get anywhere fast because torts will run the new top 6 into the ice more than he is currently.

Our D is pretty stacked compared to the rest of the league. Factor in a world-class goalie, and the team is quite good as constructed. That said, I agree that we're a 2-3 spot center away from being a lower-tier cup contender. But those are few and far between in a diluted league.

The current Canucks would need a lot of help and luck to even make it past the first round of the playoffs, assuming they even get in the Pacific top 3/cross-over matchup (which is looking pretty hard atm)

Center and sniper.
Kesler daniel burrows are goal scorers but none of them can snipe it.

It's ok, 2014 UFA is filled with snipers with the cap increasing next season. http://www.capgeek.com/free-agents

Burrows is a legit top 6 forward. He's just in a scoring funk right now.

he's had two 80 point seasons, 34 goals and 39 goals. You could say the same about Kes, he's had two 70 point seasons , one 41 goal season.

i wouldnt mind giving cammalleri a chance if he'd sign as a FA for Booth's $4.25mil. he's not worth the 6 mil he's getting right now, that's for sure.

Cammalleri is clutch in the playoffs probably with 5mill as a scoring winger on the 2nd line

If Vanek is coming to Vancouver the most we're gonna offer him is 6-6.5 but keep dreaming...

Oilers should clean house starting with Kevin Lowe and closely followed by Craig MacTavish.

This...
The culture in that organization is a mess. And the change HAS to begin with upper management cleaning house

These kids in can adapt..speaking of which...

Eberle, Hall and Nuge are too damn small. They cannot compete when they are getting wrecked out there. There's a lot of skill between these 3, but I've noticed that they do not have the strength on the puck. They will never be competitive until they find a legit playmaker/sniper that can play a bigger game. Keeping the play "simple" no longer applies to this oilers team, especially in this ridiculous pacific division as its too damn easy to knock them off their stride.

I want to see Yakupov succeed as I genuinely believe this kid has a lot of potential and skill. He did rip it up pretty good last season. I blame his HORRIBLE season on MacT and the Oilers management...you can't come out and say that "we should have taken Ryan Murray"

Yakupov may have been the best available, but the oilers needed to address their defence and have fucked up royally by not picking up Murray. Darnell Nurse has ways to go before he can become a legitimate NHL calibre D man.

Leafs trade D prospect Blacker, a 3rd(conditional to a 2nd), a 7th to Anahiem for Holland, Staubitz.

I like this trade. Being without our top 3 C, we needed short term relief. Blacker isn't too much to give up.

Fav comment so far

Let's acquire Mattias Ohlund, convert him to wing, and have a Holland - Bolland - Ohlund third line.

Wooooooo MayRay gets er done

Been a while since I could do a Victory post. Leavs offense has been lost without centers. What a difference moving JVR back to wing did for the first line .
