bluebomber85 09-20-2006 03:30 PM

I can fully smoothly drive an 18-Speed semi-truck around town without worry now.. sweet.

edit:

i haven't done the roadtest part yet, but i think the driving part is gonna be a breeeze! it's the pre-trip inspection i forget parts of.

down_hill_dog 09-20-2006 04:57 PM

Have you guys got the one back from the engine rebuild yet?

bluebomber85 09-20-2006 07:38 PM

i only work there a couple nights a week for some extra money, but i did notice last week there was one of our trailers hooked up to a rental international.. maybe they've gotten it back by now though..

No mom, I'm not watching bukake movies again 09-20-2006 08:57 PM

dude the pretrip inspection is easy!!! do you use the clutch? the driving instructor gave me shit cause I wasn't using it half the time for shifting... then at the end of the test when I pulled back into the yard she was like "Well, you didn't use the clutch on a couple of shifts so I'll have to give you 10 demerits for that." I was so like you fucking power tripping bitch... she was just mad because I didn't fuck up and she didn't want to give me a perfect score.

nice man...

i've just got into a habit of double-clutching on upshifts and rev-matching downshifts.. mainly because that's what my instructor told me that the examiner is going to be looking to see. i haven't taken my air brakes course yet. (taking it this weekend) so that should clear up any misunderstanding about the in-cab air section of the pre-trip.

you'll probably have to do a compressor recovery test too as part of thier pre trip inspection where you operate the service brakes on and off until the air tanks are empty, then see how long it takes to get back up to full pressure.

yeah you gotta do that, making note of the warning indicator on the way down, and that the parking brake comes on between 45-20 psi.

i love it when guys come in and their axles look like curly fries, or when they get scared and dump the clutch their differential turns into many little little pieces.

probably a week, those mechanics aren't trained to work on internationals.

down_hill_dog 09-22-2006 11:00 PM

true that. Internationals belong at international dealers.

Ghost rider looks like itll be pretty awesome, probably worth seeing it just for the CGI effects alone.

Anyone know what the weather conditions are typically like on the hope-princeton this time of year?

Im heading down to van in a couple of weeks, but ive heard about horror stories of snow in october, should i be worried about any bad weather going around the coke?

it's fine, but you can't predict anything on any upper altitude highway any time of the year, but there usually isn't major storms until well into november.

Big Daddy 09-24-2006 02:08 PM

Has RS always been purple and pink or am i seeing shit?
