Use the recomended break in procedure or you'll wreck those pads in a hurry.

The box doesn't say stick your foot to the floor and break as hard as you can.

no but it does say
Step 1. Seal all brake ducts. Step 2. Slowly engage brakes 6 to 8 times at medium speeds Do not drag brakes or come to a complete stop. Step 3. Increase speeds to simulate race conditions; allow 6 to 8 high pressure (about 500 psi) snubs at racing speeds. Total engagements for Step 2 and Step 3 should be a maximum of 15 to 20. Step 4. Remove brake duct seals. Allow the system to cool for about 15 minutes. Do not engage brakes while car is parked during cool down period

and no one is slamming on brakes.
and i also am not sure how you perform all these motions without making the brakes crazy hot

resurfaced rotors dont really need to be babied...its just a cleaned up/evened out surface...

that is the break in procedure, the brakes should not even be used without doing this first. Whoever advised you to wait doesn't know. Once you complete the steps and let the brakes cool you're good to go.

yeah dude. trust me follow the steps, i have fucked up a set of pads real bad because the knucklehead at the parts store told me to just take it easy for the first bit. nuh uhh... second time around, second set of pads, i followed a similar procedure, and wow those things gripped fugin good.

alright i did all ze steps this morning and they had a good 6 hours to cool so im sure everything will be dandy. a fair amt of brake dust already and they squeel a bit, im assuming this is normal because it says they have increased wear and noise

Mod of today:

Changed the civic's oil. Installed a new blingbling FRAM filter. I then clear coated the wheels and sanded the lips.... pictures in random pictures thread.

i heard some bad things about fram's oil filters. mainly that they insides turn into mush pretty quick. i've never used one myself though.
