1.4 beats the 1.8 hands down in sharpness, build quality, bokeh and overall performance. It's worth the extra $200.

Now if you compare the 1.2 to the 1.4, that's not worth the price difference

What editing program you use? I'd just want to edit my pics and photoshop seems so difficult cause i haven't used it in so long and have totally forgotten everything about it. I quoted those as a reference. Oh btw i got a mac if it makes a difference.

Ps. I want to do a little more than what iPhoto has to offer.

^ on a mac use aperture, you can also use lightroom. Both very powerful tools to edit pics
