Awesome GFunk! I went in 2010 when i got to Melbourne, and it was great! General admission or grandstand? You going to the Sunday Race Day? I loved the sounds, the smell and the heat of the race!

I got general admission and loved it. Glad I went that route as not only did I save some money but also got to see the qualifyings from a few different parts of the track. Didn't go on race day though as I previously had a trip down to Mornington planned.

Sweet, post more pics! I took my 70-200 to the race and it was great from where i got to see the race!

Also, check out The Cerberus Beach House and tell them your a friend of Ernie's from Vancouver, and i said to come down. You will get a good seat, with a stunning view! Reserve about a week in advance if you can. Great food as well! It's in Black Rock, close to Sandringham, bring the/a lady if you can!

Awesome, thanks for the suggestion. Will definitely make visit with a lady friend!

I wish I had my 70-200 but I didn't think I'd really use it much so I left it at home. Longest range I had to work with was the 28-75. Got a link to some of your shots?
