I'm still getting into photography so some pointers would be great! I'm not very adept with photoshop so I'm still experimenting with editing.
These photo's are unedited, had a chance to shoot my friends finished ae86.

Nice photos man, I would suggest using a higher F-Stop when shooting on a tripod at night. F1.8 is a very narrow DOF, try shooting at f4 next time and see the difference in the sharpness of the car.

So, what motor does the 86 have?

K-bad 02-05-2012 05:31 PM

^ Thanks! oh okay, so a higher F-Stop would have more of the car sharper than just the front?

I actually can't remember the engine it has lol, I just messaged him to find out, I'll edit this once I find out!

**Edited* "rebuilt ae101 4agze 8.9cr indivitual throttle body, and a garette GT2860rs turbo" Thats what he told me lol

Yes, if you look at your 2nd photo (shot at F5) the car is in focus for the most part. F1.8 is an extremely sharp DOF (ie the area in focus is very small, everything in front or behind will be out of focus)
Just get out there and shoot more, play with your settings and see what works. It took me a long time to realize that shooting at f1.8 wasnt working lol.
