I'm guessing if it was an S15 it was 90 or older...in which case they had the E code 2.5 which had quite a bit less power than the 91-93 A code (High Output motors).
I've got a top end lying around and my buddy wants to get experience in porting. So I might port and polish the head for sure, and maybe the TB and the intake as well. I've also got a cam kicking around that'll probably get a custom grind and I know a place in the states that does AWESOME work on chips for dirt cheap. Apparently for 50US you get a chip that bumps hp by about 10-12...a lot for a shitty engine like the Iron Duke. I'm right now trying to see if I can track down a Marine crank for it which would bump it to 3.0L...aside from that I may (or may not depending on the condition of the block I get) bore it 30 or 40 over, deck the head 10 thou and call it a day *HOPEFULLY* I can have that motor in next summer....we'll see  | |

Some nice S trucks. I like those Irocs and that hat is real nice.
Finally found out why my engine siezed. The block heater blew out in August when my truck overheated.  god damn useless digital dash!   
Engine removed, along with useless R-12 AC   
Donor Engine out of a beat 89 2wd s10   
Everything is good to go, engine runs PERFECT.
2.5, you should swap a 4.3 V6 in there. Thats lots of power and torque for your little 2wd.

Thanks dude...I'm so undecided on that visor it was on it when I bought the truck 4yrs ago and still haven't made up my mind.
a 4.3 is just about as much work as a V8, it's really not worth it...that and I'm an idiot. I like my little 4banger. It's more original (NOBODY bothers modding a 2.5) and it's a fun little motor....
