WVW = Germany
1VW = America
3VW = Mexico

Regardless, the car Kumbo was referring to is a German-built vehicle.

I was looking to trade in my Jetta Wolfsburg for a C-class. and a while ago I found one at The Volvo dealership in the Richmond Automall.

So i showed up on a saturday, well groomed as usual, cleaned up my car so I was ready for a trade in that day.

I had to wait a long time until a sales approached me. I asked him if i can take a look at this c-class because I'm looking to trade in my Jetta. He looks around, and said

"sure, where are your parents?"

I was surprised to hear that to say the least, needless to say, I left.

what i should have said was:

"I don't know, where are your parents?"

Went to a ford dealership to look at the new mustang. The woman salesperson opens the hood and tells us,

"see all the fluids that are yellow? Those are the ones you have to replace"

"its got fire retardant insulation underneath the hood"

"the hood acts as a crumple zone"

All of those are fine and good, but you're not selling the car's safety features or to a mom who's looking for a mini-van. Crumple zones??? Plu-lease, what new car DOESNT have them. lol.

When i asked her what displacement the engine was (testing her) she had to look at the sticker to tell me it was a 4.6L

In this day and age of internet, what good are sales ppl?

You can (and should) get all the info on the net before you go to a dealer.

If you don't you are just asking the sales to rip you off.

And if you did why bother "testing" those poor sales

Actually, at least she wasn't dumb. She told the truth. Maybe she was a rookie. I don't think this is what this thread is about. If you didn't know anything about cars, then everything that she said is completely valid.

I was talking with my buddy the other day and he was saying that him and his girlfriend went down to vancouver to check out this 93 civic, the guy said it was a girls car who had gone travelling and stuff blah blah, so they negotiated a price of $4800, no accidents, well taken care of... So as my buddy goes to get the cash he says ah, whatever the dude sounds pretty trustworthy, but he went to go run the plate or the vin, or whichever it is at icbc... and the car had 12 icbc claims! including, multiple accidents over 2000$ stolen 3 times! and a total rebuild.....

hahah!!

Looking at a 01 Grand AM GT for my cousin awhile back. The salesman said it was "tip top shape" so I do a routine check. I notice that one of the motormounts wasnt bolted onto anything... I than look at the oil and it was somewhat "milky" so hmm... I asked the salesman and he replied with "the headgasket went on a testdrive but its all fixed now" yeah... right. Nice milky oil... I asked about the motor-mount and he said it was how it was supposed to be. So... we went for a test drive and when we used the brakes, the ABS sensor went CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK... the whole car shook with vibrations. He said that was normal for a car of this age

was just looking for the ad, and couldn't find it. But some dealership in van had a subaru legacy gt for sale...apparently this car had 6 cylinders and was fwd...funny...I always thought that car had a 4 cyl boxer engine with awd??

I wanted to call and see if I can get the car cheaper because I'm getting 2 cylinders less than advertised
