Spent 3 days in Seoul (near myeongdong and Namdaemun) and 2 days in Busan. Didn't have much time as I was visiting clients and the weather was AWFUL. We didn't spend much time outside unless necessary. :D

But I can honestly say, after eating in Korea, the Korean food we find here in CA are.... :heckno:

Need to wear earplugs so you don't go deaf?

No, I don't use a filter, although a 1 or 2 stop ND might help. I stop down the lens to anywhere between f11 to 16 for the muzzle blast, and use whatever time I need to expose the background properly. I usually shoot at 32 seconds, f16, 50 ISO on the Hassy, and that's the exposure I use as a base exposure for other cameras. Your setting will vary depending on which camera you use. The settings I used on my 5DmkII didn't work for the 5DmkIII or D4.

As for the warnings for the gun, there is a yellow light that starts to flash 30 seconds before the gun goes off, and 10 seconds before the gun goes off, the light in the shelter will go off, and a red light will start flashing along with an audible buzzer 10 seconds before. I would say you should at the very least cover your ears.

LiquidTurbo 04-12-2012 06:48 PM

Senna4ever 04-12-2012 07:46 PM

Better get here quick! 10 min to go!

LiquidTurbo 04-12-2012 08:02 PM

I missed it. Damn me.

Senna4ever 04-12-2012 08:19 PM

Don't worry, I miss it all the time. There's always tomorrow...the tide will be at about the same level too, so you can get down on the beach.

LiquidTurbo 04-12-2012 08:40 PM

I was kinda pissed at myself, planned the whole day around it and I missed it. Lol. Word of advice. Press the shutter when you hear the warning bell!!

keitaro 04-12-2012 09:44 PM

We should get a Lighthouse Park meet going! It's kind of creepy hiking out of there in the dark lol!

I can see the convenience of having one, but I've never owned one myself. So hard to comment on a ND Fader.
