Senna if you don't mind me asking, did you use dark shots to get rid of the artifacts on the A7RII?

this article suggests that there was algorithm tweaking or something in the a7rii which lessens artifacts, especially with astrophotography, the person compares it with the a7r which produces artifacts around stars but they arent there on the a7rii shot

#393. In the A7rII, has Sony secretely tweaked its recipe for RAW? | DearSusan

there's also this topic which details how to avoid having the a7rii take 12bit photos

Nope, no noise reduction was used in camera. The files are super clean!

My equatorial mount is the Sky Watcher mount...certainly not cheap, and it's a pain in the ass to align properly (as all of them are) to Polaris, but when I do get it right, the results are amazing.

So I was taking some night photos up at Garibaldi Lake a few months ago and forgot to ask this question. Why are my photos turning out blue on high temp kelvin? This shot was taken at 6200 kelvin but looks like 2700 kelvin. My camera I used at that time was Nikon D300 with Nikon 17-55. Any clues why and tips to avoid this?

That WB looks about right to me? You aren't going to change the color of the night sky or the reflected glow on the mountains by changing your WB. Its for adjusting the whites back to proper white. You would need a proper white light source to check that, and I don't think the light in the foreground is going to work
