Took a Sony RX100Mk4 on the trip instead of my Nikon SLR and was surprised and impressed by the pictures it took.

Yes sir! Its beautiful there. You can also get a decent view of Mt.Baker on a clear day. It's the highest point in Vancouver. I highly recommend a telephoto zoom. Some gorgeous pictures can be had.
