very nice pictures, but may i ask why they look so noisy? it doesnt seem to be a very dark scene?

is it just hardware constraints, or u set a high iso accidentally?

Because it was kind of a spur of the moment thing, I was shooting against the light, and didn't crank up the exposure, so they were all REALLY dark. Noise prolly came from me brightening them up, and adding a little saturation.

C & C anyone?

Hi there everyone, this is my first post. Very stunning shots everyone, i am really impressed by some of your shots, especially by Manan and also the night photography by Senna and Majin. (i have yet to read through every page of this thread (60 pages and counting)
Please dont hesitate to leave comments or criticism about my shots. Any HELPFUL criticism would be greatly appreciated. I am a newb photographer and i think it shows...

i sized this one down to try and get it to fit, so its lost some of its detail. hope it fits on your screen.
anyone think it should be cropped a third or halfway down?

edit: Both shots taken using 24-70mm f/2.8 First shot iso 400, second iso 200.
i think the first shot was 1s exposure the second was 1/250 with +1.0 e.v.

wow majin i really like the first pic. The clouds look very vivid. The only thing i can say that could have been improved is maybe the horizon line could have been lowered, that is, the camera raised or pointed more skyward or cropped to shave off a few inches of the sand below as this seems like unwanted/unneccesary space. the horizon line is the strongest focal point in this shot so you want that on a third. (edit: i just cropped that photo and omg, it looks like a postcard, beautiful)
really like those clouds though... mmmm ice cream

sepheon... your first one seems just like a snapshot, nothing really...jumps out.

your second one however, is awesome! http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t.../VineWall2.jpg

i'd crop it til you cant see the first black stripe on the top left. but personal preference really, anything else would work too.

thanks for the comment kwazy
yea the first shot i really didnt know what i was going for. i took the shot a bunch of times but that one was the most appealing.
the second I was just walking around granville island and the pillar jumped out at me.
I cropped the top of the image just under the edge of the first black line and it is much more effective now. effective at conveying what i do not know, but effective none the less.

Noticed you met Senna though. I stuck around for a while, but I think we left at 3.
