Just a warning: FAKE HORI Screen protectors are VERY common. If the price is any lower than $8-10, it is almost definitely a fake.

I can guarantee 100% that mine are legit. Can't say the same about anyone else's though.

MG1 10-18-2007 08:40 PM

If you can, please upload a scan of the back of the packaging.

and please let me know when you expect those ice blue ds' will start shipping...

SkinnyPupp 10-18-2007 08:44 PM

I don't have one with me right now (will be picking up new stock tomorrow). But you can look at some pictures here.

http://www.hktoyz.com/components/com...i_contents.jpg

As you can see, the stickers are the correct yellow stickers, with only Japanese text on them (EDIT: Apparently the new ones have some English on them - I'll double check when I get a new one). The cloth is the correct cloth, with no HORI logo.

For more details on fakes, see this post.

I wouldn't worry too much. I'm pretty sure SkinnyPupp would never sell anything fake EVER. So no need to question him.

SkinnyPupp 10-18-2007 08:55 PM

Oh, turns out we do have some here. I took some quick snapshots so you can confirm their legitimacy. Bernie is right btw; I would NEVER sell fake goods. EVER.

So I bought two fake HORI DS Lite screen protectors. Awesome.

However, the first fake one I installed is holding up pretty well and is reappliable (had to fix it three times and lifted and resealed well). I'm surprised at the fake's quality XD

I wasn't questioning him. I was wondering if the ones I bought from XSkin were the real thing. It looks like they are the real deal.

You should probably let everyone know which store is selling fakes so people can avoid that store (for everything else as well)

Can someone let me know as soon as they see a copy of Chessmaster for DS? I heard it is supposed to be released sometime in the fall of this year.

well it does say "The DS Lite is Region Free! You can play games from any region on any console unit."

im guessing it would work regardless.. all you would need is a power adapater thing of some sort to convert the power..

now with that being said.. skinnypupp, the ds lite specs in the quoted link above.. im just wondering when you say it is Smaller and lighter.. is that compared to the recent DS LITES or compared to the original ds phat

I just trade my old DSphat and 3 games paid 5 bucks more a new DSL.

U can trade in ur old dsl(value $100) for a new DSL as well. This is really good for the ppl who abuse their DSL as they can get a new one by just paying 10 bucks.

The dsPhat has a value of 40$ but 60$ when you are trading it in towards a DSL right? And im guessing the 3 games added up to 110-120? Because they just told me the price is back to 140 and it was on a promotion for 110 a couple days ago. Damn, I missed my chance. I should've saw this thread earlier.

That was written when the Lites first came out, so it is comparing to the old, shitty DS.

And yes, DS Lites are region free, so you can play them anywhere. If you live in Canada you'll want the Japanese one, since the charger is the same. However there is a major shortage of Japanes DS Lites in Hong Kong, so it could take weeks for an order to be fulfilled. We send HK versions right away though. The only difference there is the plug; you would have to buy a 3rd party multi-voltage plug from us, or better yet a USB cable charger.

danlee78 10-20-2007 08:59 PM

has anyone actually ordered from HKToyz? i want the enamel blue ds...how long will it take exactly? and if i pay from credit card do i get some kinda tracking number?

SkinnyPupp 10-20-2007 09:23 PM

We only have the enamel blue in HK Version in stock right now. If you order, you do get a registration #. It will take about 5-7 business days to arrive.

yuusha 10-20-2007 09:59 PM

I went to X-Skin and they were sold out of R4s, so I didn't bother getting anything there. I tried to ask the sales clerk if they were getting anymore soon, and she didn't know when they will receive new stock...

/sigh any other retailers?

PM me, I will ship one to you. You'll get it sooner, and it will be cheaper than buying it at those stores ;)
