$120!? have u asked e-fix? couple store next to comppc. I went and ask how much is it to mod is like $60 and u also get a game. The comppc guy is sometimes clueness on wat he is talking about. How new is your wii? I've never heard of paying more because is a newer one.

yup i got my wii modded from E-fix back in november.. quoted me $60 for my Wii which i bought back in dec '06.. and if you have a recent Wii, they charge $80 for it..

but ya, anything over $100 is overpriced...

the d2pro is usually about 120 installed .. i seen it for 140 at some places

d2ckey is about 110 and 120 and others

new wiis are harder to mod, and those 2 above are the current best chips out there.

so comPC quoted u $120?, do u know which chip?

I am not sure if it is a good idea to get a Wii modded at this time. Since the Wiikey team might not release anymore update for their mod chips.

I will just wait a bit more to see what will happen.

Is April 27th the release date for Mario Kart for Wii in Canada too?

I can't wait.

I know the game comes with one steering wheel adapter, but if you wanted to buy more, is there an official Nintendo steering wheel or is it a third party thing? I saw a steering wheel at Walmart last week and it looked like a cheap aftermarket thing.

yea april 27th is the release date for here as well. I'm pretty sure nintendo will release the official steering wheel to be sold alone in stores soon. They're probaly want to see how good the sales for mario kart wii first.

gametrailers already has their mario kart review posted

an 8.4.. really good review..

they criticize the power ups in the game as how it can be an annoyance

and of course, the dumb down gameplay to make casual gamers more appealing..

Holy cow, the steering wheel is hard to use. I can't steer worth crap with it. Gamecube controller is waaaay better. I purchased an extra three steering wheels for this game. I'm gonna return them tomorrow. The game itself is pretty awesome, though. I haven't played on-line yet, but with 12 players on the track it's going to be a blast.

Edit: I bought the game at Willow Video in Langley. Opened at Midnight for Mario kart release (only had 45 copies). The steering wheels were selling for 15 bucks. They were the same ones as the one included with the game. I'm not sure if this version of Kart is better than the DS version. Just different. The courses are pretty wild. Back to playing........

Don't use the GC controller, it's easiest to use the remote and nunchuck. That way you can do the jump tricks easily (just shake the controller when you're in the air) which will give you a small speed boost on every jump.

D pad up gives you a bit of boost while in the air..... maybe other key combos give you extras. Plus, I like the GC controller. Easier on my manly hands.
