mine are all in and have not bothered me yet. hopefully i wont have to get them pulled

RRxtar 01-04-2007 11:19 AM

I had mine removed less than a week before my 19th birthday.

they put me under, and before I woke up they shot me full of pain killer and freezing so I had no initial pain, and hardly any after. I was eating solid foods within days, and partied hard on my birthday.

meepmeepdeath 01-04-2007 11:35 AM

got 4 out pretty quickly around 2 hours? no hassle dentist said my wisdom teeth were all pretty easy to take out, but the recovering days were an ass barely ate much and woke up with blood in throat
took about 4 days b4 i actually ate reg food

BeeBeeAhn 01-04-2007 11:37 AM

I was supposed get them removed back in 2005, but I refused to since i'm scared i'll turn into a giant chipmunk. I saw what my friends went through, and I'm a little bit freaked out. The top ones are out, but they don'tbother me.I have no idea about the bottom ones though.

Actually my dentist said he won't put me under for the procedure because it's not necessary. So i said no..he'll have to knock me out with a baseball bat because i don't want to be awake for it.

Why do we have to have them pulled out?

My brother/dad went through it and it seems pretty intense.

Edison_Chen 01-04-2007 12:02 PM

Whoaa, all these procedures taking over 2 hours and whatnot. My surgery took at most an hour and I was stumbling out of the office before i even knew it. All i remember was the surgeon putting the barbituates into the IV line, me saying something to him, then BAM....all done.

i remember my ex took hers out @ 21 and the whole thing took ~1 hour. She was talking non-stop as soon as she stepped out of the clinic in Oakridge. She could eat solid food right away but I insisted that she eat my "steamed egg". It tasted horrible but I think she finished it anyways.................. aiiii.......... memories

i had mine taken out quite a few years ago, all i remember is that i went out that same night and ate solid food again within two days. It wasn't too bad, i didn't bleed very much

Bouncing Bettys 01-04-2007 05:46 PM

my dentist has been telling me to get them removed soon for the last 6 or 7 years and i've done nothing. lack of coverage, myself being a little squeemish, and my severe procrastination problem have all kept me from wanting to go through with it.

eveuie 01-05-2007 04:58 PM

i got 3 pulled out on wednesday. got some tylenol 3's but they don't really do anything for me. i was spitting blood all day. was pretty swelled up yesterday but i managed to spend a day in seattle driving up and down by myself. i'm hoping the swelling will go down soon, it's driving me nuts. at least it kinda distracts me from my back pain...

my friends told me that tylenol 3 knocks them out, doesn't happen to me. i think i'm immune now, maybe i need a horse tranquilizer :D

SiNzz 01-05-2007 08:50 PM

Crap, I gotta get em done. They told me to wait til I'd moved back to Vancouver, some 3 years ago...and now I don't have an excuse to procastinate anymore :(

saucywoman 01-06-2007 12:12 AM

it doesn't hurt too much. I had virtually no swelling except for when I talked a lot (which I had to do in my previous job) only then did it hurt like a mother. I got mine done by a specialist though, so I don't know if that helped with not swelling

Razor Ramon HG 01-06-2007 05:04 PM

Apparently you don't have to remove them if they grow out?

SiNzz 01-06-2007 08:59 PM

If they grow out properly I guess not. Apparently mine are growing sideways. Damn.

InvisibleSoul 01-07-2007 12:45 PM

I must have had the least worst experience ever.

I think I had two removed one early afternoon, and I kid you not, I was eating pizza that night. It only hurt if a piece of crust went directly into the hole... but other than that, I had no problem eating hard food just hours after.

saucywoman 01-07-2007 09:22 PM

I was able to eat pizza too, but I mainly used the front teeth as I didn't want any food to get into the holes from the wisdom teeth

ed99 01-08-2007 12:51 AM

I had one pulled a yr ago with at least 5-6 shots of anaesthetic. My jaw was numb as hell. When the doctor was pulling out the tooth from the root, it hurt as hell for a good 5-7 seconds. It must be one of the worst painful experience I had in a dental chair. Not even anaestthetic helped. So beware.

Dental is the worst....Painful and is dam freakin expensive too.

RSD 01-08-2007 09:42 PM

i was supposed to get em done about a year ago. i guess im just lazy, they even tried to sacre me into it by saying that my top wisdom teeth are coming in at an angle and showed me an xray lol
i said fuk it and went home
