I think i got all 4 of mine out a year or two ago. By the time i told the doc "whatever you do, knock me out". I was knocked out. Woke up all nauseous with gauze crammed in my mouth. This was early in the morning. Slept until late into the evening. Never really felt any pain. I actually went out later that night to hang out with buddies and such (ofcourse i got picked up). I felt the doctor did a really good job, it really was not bad especially from all the hype. btw my mother tricked me by saying i had an appointment for just a normal check up, and then when i got there, the assistant said "so you're getting your wisdom teeth out", and i replied with "oh, shit" and went along with it. |

I wasn't completely knocked out, only given freezing/numbing of the gums and mouth. It was kind of awesome watching my blood spray all over the doc's goggles and mask while he hammered my tooth out |
since my work insurance doesnt cover dentist...i always get my teeth checked when i go back to hk (much cheaper there...i think its only like around 100~cdn for a wisdom tooth?) anyways, i had one taken out one time i went back, then another one next time...and finally had the top two taken out the last time i went back....fuck should have taken them out all at once so its not like every single time i go back i have to suffer on this pain lol.... i remember that the second wisdom tooth....the dentist had to drill/hammer the tooth into pieces and take it out....and on the third and forth one...it was done by another dentist and she had to freaking get pliers to wiggle them and kinda pry them out :S but luckily none of them were infected....only took about a week or so to heal :) |
I'll admit that it's pretty brutal when it comes to removing a wisdom tooth but people make it sound like it's end of the world. I didn't even feel pressure that a lot of people talk about and I haven't felt any pain since I got my tooth removed on Wed but mind you my tooth was fully erupted so there wasn't any cutting. I was actually more calm having my tooth removed compared to having a cavity filled because I hate the sound of drills and the smell of burnt teeth. |
just had four taken out on Friday. The first couple hours after surgery were annoying cause you can't feel your lips or anything because of the anesthesia. Second day is ok and I started doing my normal routine except eating solids. Keep it clean and always rinse with salt water to keep it from infection. |

If you have impacted teeth, along with having all four done at once, it sucks. This was my case, and although there wasn't much pain after the surgury (I barely took any of the pain meds), it was the not being able to eat normal food for a while. Eating mushy food gets old, real fast. |
Just had mine removed yesterday. 1 tiny one at the top, and 2 sideways ones at the bottom jaw. All I remember was a needle in my arm, put some paste in my mouth and thats about it. Woke up all drowsy and made all these random texts to friends hahaha. Face was numb as fuck though Been eating mushy foods for a while now, when can I eat normal food again? When I can't feel any pain anymore from the jaw? |
Had 4 taken out some time ago. Imo, the shot that puts you to sleep is so worth it and it takes about 2 weeks to recuperate from the surgery |
got mine removed 2 months ago, and the bottom 2 are always getting food stuck in that hole FML |
I still need to get all four removed. Been stalling for a year. Might finally buckle down and remove them this summer. BTW is it true that if you go to the hospital to remove your wisdom teeth its free because its covered under the medical plan? |

Yup, complex removals go for the oral surgeon, simple removals go to your dentist. If you have a good and honest dentist he/she should tell you after reviewing your x-rays what the best route is. |
Haha, Maybe I should glad that I don't have any Wisdom teeth. I was kinda wondering, does this kinda thing get passed down from Generation to generation? Seems like my nobody in my family have this, and that includes my grand parents too. |
I must be half lucky because my top wisdom teeth only came out. I have no bottom ones. My old dentist use to call me a few times to come in and get them removed, but i said no they are not giving me any problems and changed my phone number. |
