Everyone's gonna buy a retail copy so there's not really point for blizzard to sell a digital copy. Unless someone is really desperate.

No, not from what I can see.

Well since everyone includes "me" and I am buying the digital copy you're incorrect.

I hate boxes and cd's and would rather have everyone online ready at my finger tips. From the SC 2 sites I visit like Team Liquid it seems like this will be a pretty big success for Blizzard especially for people who can't get out to retail stores.

I believe the cost of the game is $5 cheaper then retail as well.

Wait, I don't understand what you guys mean by buying the physical copy and
using the digital copy.

Don't they both do the same thing, except one comes with the box and one doesn't?

What's the difference? What do you mean by buying the box version and using the
downloaded version?

buying the box version means... going to eb and buying the box with the cd and everything
downloaded version means ur buying it online and then download the game, like steam

there is not difference in term of game. some ppl perfer having a physical copy of the game, others don't.

Blizzard usually requires you to put in the CD/DVD to start the game.
I guess you dont need it with the downloaded copy? If so, they better not make you do it with the retail copy. Its just a pain to have to keep the cd in there all the time.

Or just a CD key...like when you download games you've purchased through B.net....
They have in the PAST required a CD, but not for awhile.

All of Blizzards games have stopped having requirements for the CD for a while..
I think it started wayy back when WC3 was out, and they released a patch for all Bnet games to make it not require a full CD to play.

^^ but the the SC2 special edition you get a lot more. Like a Keychain USB, special SC2 pet for WoW, books, SC1 etc etc.... in a very nice box.

BTW I pre-order the special edition but might just get the reg version instead. Any interested in buying a special edition? At cost of course.

^Same here, I'm having second thoughts of getting the collectors edition. Doesn't seem all that worth it now :S I was kinda hyped about it too but I guess I'd rather use the extra $$$ towards something else haha (like a new camera >.>)

But I have it preordered at EB and I'll pick it up for anyone whos interested or will do a trade + cash on your end for the regular edition.

Can anyone confirm this? I'm indifferent to physical/digital copy but if one is $5 cheaper I would definitely prefer that.

I'm going the other way, I'll probably never play the campaign.

The campaign is bigger then all 3 SC campaigns put together (terran, zerg & toss)

It's going to be EPIC

I'm actually considering taking Tuesday off just to load up on SC2

29 missions in SC2 WoL. Just Terran.

WC3 had like 9 Missions each race.
9x4 = 32. And Warcraft 3 took quite a while to play through.

It's a few missions short, but goddamn. It's gonna be a huuuuuge game. JUST FOR TERRAN.

The Zerg and Protoss ones aren't even close to comming out anytime soon. SC2 is gonna be HUGE. I'm expecting to wait another 2-3+ years before finishing the entire storyline.
