whoa, has anyone tried the dysnasty mode? im using the canucks right now, and everytime i sim the games. I get a 90% chance of losing with comp coming back from a 4-1 lead and beat me in OT..

How is NHL 08? I can't decide whether to get this or PGR 4. From what I have seen it looks really good. But I still can't decide.

just played 5min of the PC version of NHL 08 and i think it sucks.. it's exactly the same as nhl 07

Add some mods to it. I've modded my NHL since 07 and it looks 10x better than what EA ships with.

Identical ice to real arenas, new cyberfaces and facepacks, better rosters, realistic soundpacks, custom menus, better jerseys, etc.

The only thing missing right now is Iam's TCE for 08 (Total Control Editor) used to tweak the AI.

and 1 more thing.. WTF i can't believe nhl08 doesn't suppose widescreen resolutions !!!

I used NHL Project 07 - Goalies.

They support it if you do a little of tweaking. Get Wide 08 from Sportsgamer or NHLDepot.

I'm playing with the Fantasy Draft option in Dynasty Mode.

Yeah, I'm currently using EA Sport's jerseys at the moment. Haven't updated to the better custom ones yet.

ive gotten the same message a few times while playing in dynasty mode with my cousin. Seems like it always happens when we're spanking the computer too....argghh

i got mine from FS when it first came out, so i think ill email EA about this issue.

modding the pc version of 08 so much.. have u tried it on next gen? u'll find it doesnt need AI modding/tweaking at all
two thumbs up for AI learning.

the computer still never really scores though no matter how much they cycle the puck. lol

this game is all about aiming your shots glove side.

Modding so much? The reason we mod it is because we can and that's something you cannot do in NHL08 for NG.

You're stuck with everything it is shipped with. You can't get rosters besides the EA ones, you can't update arenas to look authentic, you can't update the sideboards, you can't add in cyberfaces or new goalie pads/masks, etc.

Does anyone here play online regularly?

sideboards, cyberfaces, pads etc. those are all aesthetics and presentation. it's definitely a bonus to be able to customize those to their real-life counterparts (on the pc) but i was talking about the AI learning in NG--gameplay, specifically. i'm not sure if the mods can tweak the player behavior on the pc to par with NG.
