ahha i remember the blueprint thing...it was useless all u do i listen to some person talk lol
go to orientation which is much better

Ikkaku 07-02-2008 10:49 AM

what the heck is the blueprint thing? I've never even heard about it.. only heard about orientation @_@

lilaznviper 07-02-2008 12:43 PM

blueprint i believe if i remember is you go to one of the lecture halls, sit there, listen to some person talk about how to register for sfu courses
i just zoned out after awhile because it was boring

most important is just the orientation. get to meet new people that are in the same faculty as you and learn about the campus area

moomooCow 07-02-2008 03:20 PM

^ah! Is anyone going to the TechOne blue print session? I'm going into compsci but it seems like the applied arts sessions are fully booked. =/ The damn thing is that theTechOne sessions are all in Surrey, and I have no idea how to get around in Surrey =|

!oHenry 07-02-2008 03:48 PM

^^ Surrey is pretty easy to get around IMO. It's just a grid and all the streets are numbered.

Raid3n 07-02-2008 04:10 PM

lilaznviper 07-02-2008 04:12 PM

ok so Im pretty much fresh outta high school and I have no idea what courses to take... I set up a meeting with the poli sci academic advisor to help me plan out my courses, but i dont wanna go in with absolutely no idea what I want to take, for a poli sci major, what are good courses to take
factors include - if they're interesting, beneficial, give sufficient credits/cover requirements for grad, not too hard

im a pretty big noob and im pretty lost dunno where to start.. I'd like to avoid anything quantatative and anything to do with #s + math, I'm interested in the social aspects of things and would particularly like to develop my writing skills

thanks in advance, and fuck... im nervous! hook up some tips, im sure ill get used to it fast but still the fact about walking into a huge classroom full of strangers kind of scares me

m4k4v4li 07-03-2008 11:45 AM

you can't really avoid numbers... almost everything first year has some sorta basic math course.

m4k4v4li 07-03-2008 11:57 AM

shiiiiiiiiiit... i can always take the easiest math related courses tho right, like kin140 or some shit?

Don't worry, you're on the right track! Everybody is/was lost right after highschool and still don't know what to do. As long as you don't go lazy and don't want to do anything productive later on.
