King's man 8.5/10

Was refreshing seeing something different. Went in not seeing the rating and expected a teen James Bond.... Was pleasantly surprised it was not

rewatched black hawk down
7.9/10

I can appreciate the realism but I still prefer war movies with strong messages/metaphors from the likes of Kubrick or Coppola

so many familiar faces now: ari gold from entourage, Jaime lannister from GoT, phil dunphy from modern family, Tig from SoA, tom hardy from Nolan movies

Snowpiercer 5/10 - Cool concept but suffered from sub-par CGI and editing.

Whatever was on Movie Central so I'm guessing it's the US release. Curious what scenes were cut and how that may have made the movie better.

Interstellar 9.5/10 - wowzerz, great movie. Lots of drama. Cool concept of where earth could be at soon. Loved the space stuff. Time, space, and it's relevance were all done very well IMO. Chris Nolan is a fucking champ!

Haven't seen it yet, but I'll make a prediction that this will be the consensus:

"It's an Avengers movie"

It was out on Tuesday here.. I'll wait for the blu ray though

Here's my latest:

Wolf of Wall Street: 3/10

I never thought I would hate a Scorsese movie this much. Some parts were cool, but there literally wasn't a single likeable character in the entire movie.

I think there was only one, uncut version that was released after all the director's fights with the Weinsteins, so I doubt WhiteRocket watched a cut version. I'm surprised he didn't like as it received nearly universal acclaim, and I thought it was very well done. But to each his own.

I liked the first Avengers better because it was fresh and we didn't know what to expect. Avengers 2 is still a really good and entertaining movie but it's more about what happens that sets up the other movies. Loved the cameos by other characters they're going to have in the MCU

[edit] also surprised at how many funny scenes the movie had. Felt very Guardians of the Galaxy because of that

I was wrong...7.5/10...

I'm a huge fan and wanted to love this movie but I didn't...was still good but definitely did not quite reach the hype it got. Just too many thigns going on and too much concern with setting up other movies. I'm sure if they kept all the deleted scenes it would have flowed and made sense better though.

Blackhat 4/10.... FUCK ME what a shit movie.
crap acting, crap script, crap directing. How the falk does a cpu geek become like fbi and start killing people as if he's like a trained dude.

I wouldn't even watch this movie if it wasn't for it being filmed in HK. 4/10

The Age of Adaline

For some reason, the best movie of the year so far.

Bad reviews by women on the younger end of the spectrum?

Every so often you meet a woman in her early twenties that actually acts like a lady a decade beyond her years. A 29 year old with the experience and knowledge of a functioning pensioner? Blake Lively may have lucked out getting such a role.

(Spoiler alert): Theme- Meet the parents before getting into the hanky-panky.
