Was hoping to get some NF Elephant 2s at Dutil today. Apparently it's special order item. It seems to be discontinued on NF website for the WG. Hopefully they got some 32s in the warehouse still. So wanting some heavy selvedge..

Most likely acrylic or latex since it stays through washes.

So Naked and Famous doesn't have any Elephant 2 any more until August 2013. Can anyone recommend some heavy selvedge denim for winter?
Thanks!

hmm ebay again it is. | If you are looking for entry-level selvedge, start with Unbranded or Uniqlo MIJ ($80-90).
Or for non-selvedge, but still raw, any of Levi's "Rigid" jeans (50-60).

Does anyone have any suggestions for some brown coloured boots that would work well with slim/skinny selvedge? Some boots for the winter season - rain, slush, snow).

I have Red Wing Iron Rangers. I've spent ample amounts of time wearing them through the rain, snow, slush, a bit of mud, and heavy construction dust and they're just fine. They're made of basic boot leather, not paper... a bit of water won't hurt them.
I have other goods made of far more delicate leather, which again, despite some exposure to the rain, are just fine.

so what would be a good starter pair of jeans to work in a fade etc? ive been reading up on information but havent really come across any direct info in terms of brands etc
i'm a bigger guy usually take a 34 or 36 waist so alot of jeans that are made for smaller people, those sizes are even tight for me but typically Buffalo, Guess, etc i'm usually 34/32

I think he's saying that while his boots are of leather material, his boots are still doing fine. Maybe your boots and his boots saw different scenarios of weather, or he oiled/conditioned his boots before wearing them, etc.
I remember when I first wore my crepe soled Clarks DBs out in the rain they were fine. I always heard people say that crepe soles + rain is a bad idea, but for the times that I wore them and still do in rain, I'm fine. Quote:

I'm saying, rain does not have an effect of any significance on sturdy leather boots. If you want them to maintain the same appearance as the day they were made, I guess you'd want to avoid rain, but in that case, you'd probably not want to wear them at all. That desire doesn't make leather boots inappropriate for wearing in the rain, though..
You're reading too much stuff on the internet.

I wear my good quality leather sneakers (w+h and CPs) in the rain and they're holding up nicely. I don't like shoes that look too clean anyway.
