have a pair of APC New Standard cut-off shorts in size 29 for sale. Nice fade too.

Also, i usually tailor my suits at that store right across oakridge, but for jeans altering, you guys recommend any places?

I need to make the bottom hem skinnier.

Unfortunately, I'm doing school full time right now with no job so my disposable income is quite small and I can't justify getting a new pair if my current pair is still ok although its needing more and more repairs.

Which is kind of a good thing because I'll just keep wearing my current pair and make it look even better lol. I miss the stiffness and color of brand new raw denim though.
Feel the same way. I cant wear denim to work so it takes a loooong time for me to put any fades on them. I'm still working in a pair of NF for over year plus and they have barely any fades lol. So I might get a new pair once every 2 or 3 years.

It just sucks that all those small details that make the pair of jeans unique, skyrocket the price Still hunting for a pair of 28 MIJ raws to finish off my collection!

Oh man, I was in your shoes as well during my 2nd/3rd year. Gladly internship and co-ops in my 3rd/4th year gave me a bit of disposible income to spend on jeans

I'm quite happy with the quality of N&F; I can appreciate the quality of the more expensive brands if I sit down and pay attention, but in day to day wear, I honestly don't notice the difference. I would rather purchase the mid-tier brand that is good but not amazing quality, and dedicate the savings towards other pieces, travel, eating out, etc.

Has anyone here experimented with dying the stitching on a pair of jeans?

I'm not too big of a fan of contrast stitching and am wondering if its possible to dye it to look like tonal stitching. In particular, APC's.

If it were about value, I would buy exclusively unbranded denim.

It's not about value, it's about logically allocating the finite pool of funds dedicated to discretionary spending to produce the greatest overall pleasure.

If I settle for mid-tier selvedge denim, I do feel a bit of a sense of missing out on the fabulous subtle details of high-tier selvedge denim. Settling enables me to indulge multiple interests simultaneously instead of choosing one over the other however, and in the end, I'm more happy with denim and something else as well. That's just me though, we're all different. I also have ridiculously expensive interests, so it's sort of a necessity to pursue them all actively.

At that price, I get unbranded. From what I've read they don't fade easy so you are putting a lot of work and not much reward.

But if you want them for just the skull, why not they are very affordable.

Yeah, grad school is different from undergrad. I didn't care too much about where my money went back then... car mods, clothes, toys, social stuff. But my priorities have changed a bit.

Oh and update. Gave them a soak. Its been almost 2 years now and this pair is still going strong. They look amazing in the sun. But man all those little repairs start adding up haha.

Yup, Somet 008. Fits really great and feels good to wear which is why I've stuck with them for so long.

I spilled red pepper oil all over my APCs at work the other day.. Resolve spray didn't work. So I had to throw it in the washer.

Noob me forgot to put it on cold water mode. Then afterwards, not sure if the oils came out and I really wanted to put them back on... threw them in the dryer.

Result... tight ass jeans, FUUUUUUUUU! But first wash in over a year, so it's okay I guess... hahahaha

Yeah, fits great now maybe a little bit tight but I'll see if it stretches as bad as APC and looses shape.

APC and N&F stretch like fawk.

Contrary to what people say, my raw Nudie Grims have actually been staying pretty consistent with no stretching.

Saw a friend of mine downtown. He's a big guy (6'6, 250) and has never spent more than $40 on a pair of jeans. When I saw him he was complaining about how he couldn't find a 36 inseam anywhere so I sent him to Dutil.

Saw him today rocking some new N&F and he was super stoked on raw denim.
