			ah, my rx7..
No matter what, i can't get rid of it... I love it to god damned much...
we've been through so much together.
On april 17th 2001 my mom asked me to take out the compost.... I looked in the bucket and there was not much in it... I complained... "just take it out evan" i was told... I opened the screen door, hopped off the deck and there was an 87 rx7 sport, with faided paint and needing a new owner laying in the grass.. It had a big red bow wrapped around it I took it to tylers house, blew thr transmission, and picked up my exhaust, got new paint for it. have been really mad at it and loved it more then anything...... I love you baby! miss you!!
 Evan!

"Mazda pulled the plug on the RX-7 for America, and stopped exporting the classic sports coupes in March 1996. The model's demise marked the first time that Mazda did not have a rotary-engine-powered vehicle for sale in the United States.
Declining demand for sports cars, cost/profitability concerns, and emissions issues killed the rotary-powered RX-7. Slacking demand (and significantly higher profitability opportunities in other market segments) also killed off the 3000GT, Supra, and 300ZX. However, with the return of Nissan's Z-Car, ever-improving platform flexibility and engineering capabilities, lower-cost sports cars are returning to the marketplace. Mazda's RX-7 will return to the sports cars market for the 2007 model year and will be based on the new RX-8 platform.
Mazda Motor America firmly believed it needed a sporty image leader, stronger than the Miata, to challenge the new Nissan 350Z and the new RX-8 serves as a principal model in Mazda's sporty image renewal. The RX-8 platform will form the basis for the new RX-7 as well as the next generation Miata. The overall strategy is to leverage RX platform volume to boost return on investment, while strengthening Mazda's sporty image at the same time.
The RX-7 will essentially be a 2-door, 2-seat coupe that picks up where the last RX-7 left off. A convertible is under study, however, cost/volume/profit analysis must yield a sufficient return on investment for the convertible to be approved.
The new RX-7 will use the RX-8 platform/structure, but costs will be reduced mainly through the elimination of the RX-8's two rear doors and revised content/features. The RX-7's wheelbase is expected to be shortened to about 104 inches (from 106.3) to improve turn-in, reduce weight, and because there will only be two seats. The RX-7's weight distribution is likely to change slightly (from the RX-8's 50:50) because of shorter wheelbase. Overall length will be reduced to about 168 inches, but width and height should remain about the same at 70.1-inches and 52.0-inches, respectively. The RX-8's alloy double wishbone from suspension and compact rear multi-link suspension will carryover as will brakes and other chassis hardware.
Low in height, and mounted well behind the front axle centerline, a beefed-up 280HP version of the RX-8's 250HP 1.3-liter rotary engine will power the RX-7 and will be backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. An auto-manual will also be carried over from the RX-8. An even higher horsepower rotary version could be added later.
Inside, the RX-7 is expected to use the RX-8's instrument panel, seats, and center console, although ornamentation, fabrics/trim styling, and gauge cluster colors may attempt to mask the RX-8 roots. Despite the slightly shorter wheelbase, the RX-7's front seat space should match that of the RX-8 and should surpass that of the previous RX-7, making for a more comfortable cabin."

haha.....Parksville rotary scene is getting bigger.
A new guy just got hired at work. He drives a stock FB, not sure what year, but he's a young guy, think he's a year older then me. I whent to school with him, so looks like its time to get him schooled and up to date, might bring him down to a meet sometime after I get license back....
We should have that phatty meet in April sometime, near the end of April maybe. The BBQ with washing cars and cruising and then back to the house for drinking/party or whatever. April would be keen.
later
