it is the lowest model... so lots of suspension parts are different to RX7 TII and GXL... well... good luck:) |
GS is the lowest model for that year, isnt it? |

There are so many bad intakes like ractive, AIP(or API?), Motomaster and etc. Get good ones like Blitz, HKS, RE Amemiya, Apexi, Greddy, etc. |
Woohoo, an RX-7 thread! I too have an 88 GX. From what the americans I've been talking to are saying it's a Canadian model which is equivalant to their base or sports model, I've heard both. As for mods, First thing I did was replace the nasty phone dial rims with some 16's. Huge cosmetic improvment. Next week I'm ordering a Mazdatrix short throw just cause my shifter has quit a long notchy throw. I'll get to exhaust and suspension as soon as I can stop this nasty losing streak at the casino! :D |

intake alone doesn't make huge different... |

whats the difference they are all just a larger pipe. the filter i could see as being a difference but in the intake pipe. no. there is a difference between a short ram intake and a cold air intake. |
Get a good quality free flowing exhaust. Rotaries benifit majorly from a good exhuast:) |

execpt how much the filter can filter...(as i know...HKS mushroom one sucks on filting;)...) the size of intake pipe doesn't make much different... the length of the intake pipe will make different... that is the different between short ram and CAI |
Go talk to the guys at Progressive, they will give you some ideas that you can work with. Ryan |
rx7's are farking sexy and fast and reliable! |
since we are talking RX-7 here, what do the intitials GSL stand for? what level of RX-7 is this? |
i dunno all i know is that its a 1st gen. Grand Sport Limited lol i have no clue. |
EXHAUST FIRST, get rid of the biggest restriction first, then move around to other things like intake. Find a header, anything but Pacesetter, and maybe a Bonez race pipe to replace those cats. Try and catch up to bcty's mods. 1987 Mazda Rx-7 N/A 1130KG ZZ Rated Racing Avon Tires 5 Star Polished Aluminum Rims ported intake remove a/c , p/s , air pump upgraded injectors Fully adjustable Racing Koni struts Racing Intrax Springs 1.3" RB Sway Bar Greddy Strut Bar Momo Interior Sweet System Custom Single Exhaust w/ Bonez Race Pipe MSD Ignition Blitz Filtercharger Electric Fan CANADIANRX7: I think the guy who bought your car lives a couples blocks away from me. And how the hell did you find a TURBO II so damn quick? Bastard. Nice work. |
well i bought the car from vic and u are from nanimo soo... :) It only took me 1 and a half weeks to get my TII after selling my n/a. I searched every where for one. I only found 2 TII's, the one i have now and one in van. Also why does the car have upgraded injectors??what size are they?? chances are that car is running very rich. |
oh thats bcty's car. I will ask him about that and see. I was going to race him one night in my old n/a but they didnt liek the 15 min drive to the racing spot and turned around :( |
Yeah, I think I asked him about the larger injectors once, it's still a stock port. Maybe upgraded means cleaned  We should get a bunch of Rx-7's together for a drive, I promise I wouldn't turn back, not even if someone said, oh by the way the spot's in Tofino..... |
