but now my mind is wopuing i am really thing of gett a bigger carb now but i don't really see big gains in les si port the enigne
holly carb's are cheep and think going to make some thgin up for ram air on this car
who whoudl be intrestign in ram air intake for the rx7 the only thign you have to do it cut 4 inc hole in the rad support

if its a stock port 12A then I don't think there is much point in changing carbs (I am probably wrong)....George can tell ya if there's any point or not.

well i knwo this as well the rx7 run rich buy it's sel
now adding in more air car make more power but really how much cfm cause the stock houseing port dish out is reall the big qestion
this is the setup if i choose to do is buy holly carb wiht manfold but this the big kicker run the spacer plate that wil even up the game as in conture line in stead of rige that most peoel do akak imafold trubulace
but all of this shoudl work well wiht 12 on pretty much an open manfold in stead of going to header

the carb right now is in really shabby condition, runs pig rich and lags on the power unless its at WOT. figure the accelerator pump is gone and floaters are jammed down, seems to be a fairly common prob with the nikki carb.
i was quoted $400 to have it rebuilt, and a rebuild kit is anywhere from $40-80 so i think i'll give a shot at rebuilding it myself. Rx7club has a few good writeups about doing so, and the haynes manual should come in handy
i just dont know shit about carbs so it should be a interesting venture |

I'm still in the hell of a million motor mounts after this weekend! It's been the second straight weekend I haven't gotten a damn thing done on the car, stupid thing. If anyone knows of a 2nd gen 13B for sale out there lemme know, it would solve a lot of my problems right now.

Well looks like I'm the only one doing anything with their rex lately. Due to my cat needing surgery I'm not able to swap a 13B, I will however finish up with the 12A. For mounting I'm just gonna weld C-channel from one frame rail to the other and mount to that, hopefully there will be room behind the rad. That and I can always cut it out if I don't like it.

Damn you all for having cars that can move under their own power! But hopefully I'll join you by the end of the week
I'm also wondering if anybody knows where to get cheap Ford and VW parts? I may need bits from both makes to complete the EFI project.

you guys ever had probs with your electronics not working, like dome lights, buzzers, rear defrost, etc? its all on the same relay, but for the life of me i can't find the damn electrical gremlin in the wiring, checked everywhere, cant find anything grounding
i have no voltage to the clock and the backup power too, like for the clock and stereo memory which is also a part of that relay, whenever i put a fuse into the defroster slot it blows. boo. this is on a FB
anyways, i spent a few hours researching through Rx7club and the are not a lot of answers to define this, mostly old threads with not much input. just wondering if any of you guys have experienced similar probs and could atleast point me somewhat in the right area.
best i can think of right now is the plugs between the firewall, but even those look ok....
Grant did you install the alarm in this sucker? i think it may be related but i doubt it, checked the wiring on that and most of it has been removed.
hmmmm.....

Alarm was there before I had it, never could get it to do much more than squak once when I put the battery cable back on. I'd be getting out your voltmeter and having a check for something shorting out.
Grant
P.S. I had a moment of devine influence today while holding some angle-iron and now I've almost got a workable motor mount.

yeah voltmeter was out. i cant find a short anywhere. its really odd.
altho unlikely, could it be the defroster metal linings on the rear windshield? i saw a post where a guy was having similar probs and he got some metal paint to repair broken parts in his defroster metal...
just a idea.
