Is kyo somewhat comparable to Kingsway Sushi or Ebei Sushi?
It looks so much better than shabusen already. I always liked the granville shabusen over the burrard one anyways.
I need some beef sashimi |

Kyo is better than both Kingsway and Ebei.
Service is better, food is better. At least for now it is.

J Malone's Bar and Grill in Richmond.
7/10. Downside is that they didn't give us a menu.
Monday was $0.19 wings, had 60 with a friend. They are fried wings with dipping sauces on the side for $0.75 each. Fountain drinks/etc are $3.50.
Sauces that i remember;
-Curry
-Teriyaki
-Ranch
-Cajun
-Honey Garlic
-BBQ
-Hot sauce
The one i thought was best was Ranch and Curry, it has the most subtle flavor which wasn't over powering like BBQ and Honey Garlic.
If you want cheap wings on a Monday, head down there.

If you want cheap wings on a Monday, head down there. | The wings are also in reasonable size asides to wing's chicken wing size. Though the sauces are quite limited leading to no variety.

8/10 for kyo, they forgot the sauce for sunamono and the gyoza, the short ribs tasted a little bit differently. but the food, especially the sushi is way better then the old shabusen. For lunch i think its 14.99 which i think is an even better deal.

they forgot the sauce for the sunomono? so they just gave you dry bowl of vermicelli and some veggies and/or shrimp, or octopus?

Deer Garden 2
The lineup and wait was quite a while but thats fine typical chinese place that just opened not too long ago I guess.
Food there was pretty good. The way you choose the noodles you want and style is so convenient. The noodles came out in a decent amount of time too. Portions were decent and it filled me up quick. It was $7.95 with noodles and drink (cold drink + $1.00)
Service itself was abit slow because the place was packed. 8.5/10
The food was a solid 9/10. Prettty happy

East side Mario in Coquitlam, first time experience.
i say 7/10
Pasta dishes range from $16-19
Unlimited Soup, Salad and Break
Pasta was OK. Similar to what you would get at Boston pizza.
Service was OK.
Reminds me of a Boston pizza type feel
Would i go again? probably not, i don't go to Coquitlam often. I just went because it was on tv and it looked interesting.

If you're referring to their location on Joyce, they closed and moved to the new location on East Hastings, between Kamloops and Penticton Ave. (Vancity/HSBC)

It's not bad but it's a once in a long while type thing.

Luke's Corner Bar & Kitchen (Granville right beside Meinhardt Fine Foods)
8+/10
Good atmosphere, food is definitely gourmet.
Service was a little bit slow, but bearable.
We had the all day breakfast, fried pickles/peppers, and the goat cheese mushroom burger. All pretty good except the burger was pretty much falling apart from poor construction. Still ate it like a king though
Burger's missing from the picture. |
