MGS4 will be divided into 2 chapters, much like how MGS2 and MGS3 was

MGS2 had the Tanker and Plant chapters

MGS3 had Virtuos and SnakeEater mission

and judging from the last trailer.. the first chapter of MGS4 will take place in middle east and the 2nd will be in Eastern Europe it seems...

Yes that is correct. But now you actually have the option to pause or skip them.

Gamepro has said that its an exaggeration....

the cut scenes are indeed long but no where near 90 mins

http://www.gamepro.com/news.cfm?article_id=187049

mayb im assuming somewhere in the 20 min or 30 min mark..

Who cares...it's only best when it's not the most popular game. Either way, it's still gonna push PS3 sales by quite a bit. Just cause it's 50GB of awesomeness..

it wont matter, MGS4 will not sell as much as Halo and GTA4, no matter how hard they go with promoting this game

Halo and GTA series has always had mainstream success, and has been part of pop culture referrences over the years, ask a none gamer about Halo or GTA and they will know what it is.. its a household name, much like Hulk Hogan is known inside the wrestling world and outside...

MGS has always had a big following within the gaming community, but its just that, within the gaming community, mostly appealing to loyal fans, hardcore gamers, and a small percentage goes to new fans... the game will sell like crazy no doubt, but will not break records in the entertainment industry

but ya, besides, its better that it wont sell like crazy, gives us more of a chance to get a copy...

Now I'm really into games, and read about them every day online.

I think there's only one site listed there that I've ever heard of before now. Maybe two.

European game sites = teh suck

^^^ wow somebody loves their internet..

The Full MGS4 demo at CES '08 (this is different from Hideo's 15 minute demo from near end of last year.. )

SPOILER ALERT

the demo video is in english, it shows the first parts of the game, shows how nanomachine communication works, the Solid Eye..

for those who have seen the 15 minute Hideo Kojima demo, it originally planned to have regenerating health like Gears of War (blood splatter and blurry vision, until u can see clear again), but looks like they went back the health meter along with the stamina gauge much like in MGS3

Will MGS4's Scores Top GTAIV?

It almost doesn't seem possible, given the ridiculously high scores for Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV, but Konami's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots should also drag in maximum scores. Early indications are that GTAIV, now the highest rated game of the generation - and one of the highest rated of all time - will have a run for its money: MGS4 really might be that amazing.

IGN has just issued their MGS4 UK review, and it sits at an outstanding 9.9; only .1 lower than the perfect 10 given to GTAIV. OPM UK (and of course, OPM), has given that perfect 10 to MGS4 already, and if it wasn't for a bizarre 8/10 from Eurogamer, MGS4 would be right on track to equal or even surpass GTAIV in the overall rankings. We're still waiting to see more reviews, but the closer we get to June 12, the more we'll see...and you'll be seeing ours as well. We're already predicting screaming matches amongst publications at the end of 2008 when they go to assign Game of the Year awards. We're barely halfway through the year, and we already know that two are gonna butt heads. What about the last six months, when the likes of Gears of War 2 and Resident Evil 5 drop? Then what? Should everyone just hand out ten different GoY awards?

It's turning out to be one of the best years in gaming ever, and we're certainly not going to complain about that. Being able to go from GTAIV to MGS4 will be a treat not often tasted.

I really hope the recent incident that happened with Konami telling the reviewers not to say anything about cutscene or install won't affect the sales.......

it wont matter, this game has an internal hype going on within the fanbase and the internet community as the saving grace of Ps3...

the 5 gig installation has been pretty much confirmed off the record by many game reviewers

and the cut scenes dont matter, MGS series has been a love and hate within hardcore gamers anyways, only the true fans will appreciate it
