Ciopinnos has one of the best steaks I've had.

Go check out my post in the "chop Review" thread.

It's total crap.

cant go wrong with the keg haha

HonestTea 04-24-2012 11:04 PM

Been 3 years since this was discussed. How's Hy's and Gotham's for steaks now? Any others?

shawnly1000 04-24-2012 11:24 PM

The Keg is great. I've been hearing a lot about Gotham lately though. so might wanna check that out.

Hondaracer 04-25-2012 06:14 PM

Onyx in white rock, had a better filet there than I've ever had at Morton's when it was open or hy's/gotham

Nvasion 04-25-2012 07:00 PM

Black and Blue
Sunday Surf and Turf at $35 for a 16oz(i think) tenderloin

From my experience, Hy's, Keg's, and oddly enough, Cactus Club's steaks seem to be the most consistent. Like someone said earlier, Earls can be pretty hit or miss, depending on the Forno cook.

Personally, I was let down by Gothams. I kept hearing about it, and when I finally went, it was just average to me. Maybe I was just unlucky and had a bad chef? But I don't think I'll be going back. If you're going to run a $50 steak joint, you have to be consistent with every dish.

Damn! $35 surf and turf, not bad! compared to $50/steak @ Gotham's :fullofwin:

Is Gotham's worth it guys? Don't wanna drop $200+ if it's not lol

Hondaracer 04-26-2012 04:25 PM

Any of the "best" steakhouses you can go and have a great meal at a reasonable price

To spend $200 you would almost have to TRY to spend that if your going with a group of 3-5 people

Drinks are all the costs really

suzuka84 04-26-2012 10:23 PM

Hy's is owned by the Keg.

All the chain restaurants get their steaks from the same big meat purveyor. Cactus, Earls, Milestones, Keg etc have their steaks cut/purchased from Intercity Packers

Oh I see! The picture on the website shows a Lobster tail

I don't know about you guys but it seems like a sin to me to go to a good steakhouse and order the tenderloin. BORING!

That's like going to Hy's and ordering a porterhouse well done with chicken on the side.

I like the Gotham porterhouse and the bone-in rib steak. So flavourful!
