I've been with Fido since 2001 but right now my package is CityFido for $35 a month. But I dont have text and caller ID so im willing to sacrifice my cityfido for your plan.

@rageguy: Fido store. Took less than 15 minutes.

@RFlush: Retention/Customer relations. Just say right off the bat that you've been with Fido a long time and you want the plan that your friend got. If you're NOT getting an iPhone, you can get an even better plan. However, they have restrictions (that will be lifted soon...) with the iPhone. That's why the guy that helped me told me to call him again in 6 months and he'll give me an even better deal.

I think you can only get a good plan you get the Data plan, if you don't, they won't give you a plan that's as good as Ronins

I think I'll try to get them to give me some additional credits for my data plan later on. My plan is pretty similar to what you have there except I am at around $80 after everything (with VM, 275mins, unlim R2R).

It's really tempting to sign the 3 year contract with these good plans, but who knows what's going to happen in that time?

As far as i know, there are supposed to be like 5 or so new cell phone companies spring up (all GSM) within that time. Some canadian and some american. While these 3G iPhone plans are the best us canadians have seen, who's to say we will start seeing world rates when more companies come over?

My phone is getting more and more annoying now... keyboard starting to lag a bit... Contacts opening slow... SLOW AS FUCK "backing up" in iTunes... I swear my phone is charging faster than it's backing up which is ridiculous.

Yeah, the guy said he'll give me F2F later. I told him I didn't really want voicemail (I hate it when people leave voicemails) so if that saves him a little, I don't mind doing him a favor if he'll give me F2F in six months. He gave me his name and extension so I can find him later.

With Fido, you can change your plan at any time.

The guy told me straight up that other companies are going to be inching in on the market and making plans more competitive. If that's the case, then we can probably expect it in a year or so. When that time is up, even if you're on contract, Fido will want to retain you. It is much cheaper to keep a customer and give them something they want than lose them and make $400. I know that sounds stupid but a big company like Rogers/Fido is thinking long run...which means keeping us away from the competition. They'll want to retain us.

Wow the 3G is quite fast. I noticed the phone get a tad warm after heavy usage. Not really enough to worry about but a little warm.

i was no on contract whem i got the iphone. i have the old fido to fido with unlimited sms between fido and unlimted evening and weekend with only 150 daytime for 40$.... the rep told me my plan is the best deal right now. but wtf at ur plan :( my gd is telus and i really dunt text fido ppl tat much. will the csr on th phone give me this plan now that i got myself an iphone and got lock in to 3 yrs? : (

Fido/Rogers ALWAYS say "Wow your plan is the best right now" just to make you feel good and shut up.

You have to sign for 2 or 3 years for the iPhone. 3 years for sure if you want a retention plan...unless you're really lucky.

try restarting the phone as in turn it off then on again using the home and power button.

My phone also lags now, after the 2.0.2(?) update (newest update) it was fine before, now it's messsssssssssed lol. Restarting phone seems to fix it, but gets pretty annoying.

lol the Mandarin app is the one Ch28 recommended on the previous page (Lonely Planet Mandarin). It just has a bunch of audio phrases/pronunciations in Mandarin. Palringo is free in the app store on iTunes.

And to take a screenshot just press the home button and the sleep/wake button at the same time and you should see the screen flash white. The photo will be saved in your camera roll.
