my iphone is stuck on recovery mode and it wont restore!!
its been jailbroken. its the 3g.... pls help. i hope i ddnt brick it

Just got my 3g 2 minutes ago. it doesn't read my original sim card. came with this other one tho lol. help.

Also, do I need to update to 2.0.2?

I updated my itunes now my phone runs but its not reading any of my contacts on my SIM card..

did you activate it yet through itunes?

if you have a virgin phone by all means update it you don't lose anything.

I just activated it right now thru itunes.

I ordered it tuesday night it came friday. I wasn't home friday so I got it today. Also I got rogers to waive the $35 shipping fee. I told him I will just pick it up in the store so he was like ok don't worry about it and waived the fee.

The packaging was shit. They put it in a big box with no foam or anything inside like NOTHING to absorb impact. it was just a loose iphone box bouncing around in a bigger box. It looked really unprofessional. Not sure if this is UPS or rogers fault.

In the end I will never order a phone over the phone. Much easier to just pick it up.

Yea I am updating right now.. I dunno why it doesnt read any of my contacts. I remember my 1st gen Iphone I had to import my contact list with outlook or something but I dont have outlook on my laptop i dont think? (vista)

dont update to 202 if u plan on jailbreaking...

well there are ways to downgrade and then jb, it's just that updating to 202 will make it harder to jb now...

Why? You can jailbreak even if you update to 2.0.2 through Quickpwn. Although myself, I did not update through iTunes as I used winpwn instead.

How come I can't set a background image? When I go to set a wallpaper it only appears when the phone is locked. Is this normal? My old iPhone I could use any photo as a background. I will try to jailbreak it tonight tho.

It's normal, the wallpaper is only for the lock screen.

you need to quickpwn your phone since its on 2.0.2 and install either (cydia or installer), and then download an app called winterboard. This will allow you to modify your phone and themes... etc.. also will let you have a picture background

ps: got my invisibleshield yesterday, took exactly 3 weeks shipping... pain in the ass to install, mega dust/lint magnet. Prob gonna take it off and put on a different protective skin.

I'm ok my phone right now hehe. I intalled the installer app when I had my first gen iPhone last yr. I remember having the dashboard and stuff customized. Same with like the SMS bubbles lol

I've found that Cydia is the better app installing program. And even then jailbreaking right now is hardly worth it. D:
