It might be b/c more die hard fans were present? With the losing streak, cheaper tickets are easier to find and i guess more people just gave them away to friends and family as GM place doesn't quite seem like the place to be lately. The go canucks go chants were loud and they didn't seem to just die down so quickly.

Too early for me to celebrate yet. But I hope they keep this up. Then I have something more consistent to celebrate for. Blowing that 2 goal lead was unimpressive. But glad they finally snapped that losing streak.

just stating this because how many others are there like me and it did sound like you were saying whoever doesn't post in this thread was a bandwagoner. Anyhow it's over and done with, I just wanted to state my opinion :)

Still glad the canucks won last night, it's been so heartbreaking seeing them lose the last few games :(

411ken 02-04-2009 07:53 AM

AV for coach of the year!! It was nice to see pretty much everyone skating hard last night.

silk 02-04-2009 07:58 AM

did you guys watch the post game conference with AV ? AV tries to be calm but you can clearly see his lips were upward direction, it was funny...He was happy im sure.. job is secured..... for now ..
and good to see canucks finally won a game and out of January slumps.
If they win against Chicago on staurday... that will boost their confidence a lot more and lead to success on the 8 game road trip for them.

cdizzle_996 02-04-2009 09:14 AM

^^^ I saw it, when a reporter asked about Burr's goal he had the biggest smile on his face.

AzNightmare 02-04-2009 09:15 AM

Lol, yeah his job is secured for now...
When the Hurricanes tied it 2-2, they showed a brief shot of Gillis and he looked very pissed.
His face was all red, either lighting, been drinking too much already, or he was steaming mad. haha

hotjoint 02-04-2009 09:54 AM

good win for the nucks, i was getting worred after carolina came back to tie it 2 - 2

Gumby 02-04-2009 10:12 AM

It was great to see the Canucks do well on faceoffs last night - surprisingly against a team with Brind'Amour who leads the league in FO percentage (currently 62%).

MG1 02-04-2009 10:28 AM

Sundin was like in the 70% range in face offs last night.

EDIT: 79%

SumAznGuy 02-04-2009 11:26 AM

Was last night's game a sellout?
There was talk on the pregame show that there were tickets left for the saturday game against Chicago.

Save-On Foods. $19.95 for membership. You get all kinds of stuff for free. Canucks duffle bag, $40.00 off jersey, invites to signings and practices. It's really worth it if you're a Canuck fan. I got mine using 6000 Save-On More Points.

Yea shitty deal. Ducks steal him off waivers and now we have to give up a player to get him back. I heard the Ducks put him waivers recently, they should have claimed him that way lol.

The announcer did say it was a sell out during the game.

They go by tickets sold and not by the actual attendance

Good pickup for the Nux, Obrien has some competition now.

That's what my guess is...

Not sure about Raymond's future either since he's been benched the last 2 games.

I wonder if this had anything to do with their little fight in practice last week? Coach taking the side of the veteran. Probably not, but can't help but think about it...

cdizzle_996 02-04-2009 02:32 PM

We didnt lose, OB, or Raymond we lost Mike Brown.

We're just speculating who has to go to make room for McIver. They already have 3 guys on the roster that fills the #6 defenseman (O Brien, Nycholat and Davison). Plus it's not like last year where we never had a healthy defense where we were stretching all the D men. I'm guessing one of the 3 have to go if we're going to add McIver into the rotation. (unless Salo gets hurt again :D)

I'm just throwing out Raymond as he's been a healthy scratch the last few games and has fallen out of favour with the coaching staff. I wouldn't be surprised if he's being shopped around as trade bait...

Hondaracer 02-04-2009 03:05 PM

keep raymond benched
