Nice I was just in Kens chair last week. I really don't want him to get too popular and get booked up crazy lol. His new shop is like 10min from me, so convenient could be trouble lol. Jesse has been thinking of selling Blackwater and go work at Ken's shop a few days a week.

Ken actually charges $160 now + tax. He charges by the hour.

Just did another couple hours on the Hannya/snake on my ribs. One more session to finish it up then starting on chest and stomach to tie it all together. Then we start it all over on the my right side.

I love how clean his work is. Will post a updated pic of my rib piece once its healed.

So sorry to sound like a newb but is it common for artists to use the pre-printed out stencil transfer type thing you see on the TV shows etc or does that type of thing vary?

stenciling is the most common method of transferring a basic blueprint of the design on to your skin. The stencil can be made using a stencil machine or hand made. Some artist likes to freehand their stuff in that case marker so pens will be use to draw out the design on your skin.

Now there are the really crazy guys like horiyoshi 3 that can tattoo right on the skin without any preparation but people that can pull it off and is willing to pull it off for you is very rare

I had a touring artist from Japan working at Monkey King who literally just went to town on my arm with a Sharpie. I told her what I was looking for, and off she went. That was basically my stencil.

That's sort of what I figured but wanted to make sure. Because it's different and I've never seen anything similar to what I want. Closest was something I seen in a video but it was of a different country, looked pretty sweet in my opinion. And obviously the whole, you know, proud to be canadian, serving my country, etc. When I saw it I knew I wanted it, something clicked.

don't go and call your tattoo artist "stencil artist" though. thats kind of like asking Picasso if he can trace
