In This Thread: Show your tattoos!

I noticed that some people in here have tattoos... I think we should have a thread where everyone can show off their ink! Post a pic, maybe a bit about it, and plug the artist...

I'd love to get things started, but I won't be getting my first one done until this August in Kyoto... I'll post after that if this thread goes anywhere!

Looking forward to seeing some submissions!

And here is the original artists' rendering:

I found a Tattoo of a Samurai online about 4 years ago. It looked pretty cool but it was pretty small and somewaht 'westernized'. I took this image in to Blackwater Tattoos (Jesse Wark) and asked him to revamp the style to make it more traditional Japanese and put some more detail in it.

Two weeks later he drew up what you see above. I liked it so much that I booked an appointment and paid him a deposit. After 6 months I went in and had it done. It took just over 5 hours and I'm very happy with the results.

Going to get a custom "Oni" done on my arm. After several months, the artist I chose is Gotch from Kyoto... I really dig his style - his outlines are like sumi-e ink brush strokes. I think it will look awesome. There are some good artists in Hong Kong and Vancouver, but this guy's style really clicks with me, plus I have enough travel points to get to Japan for free so why not? :D

Thanks for posting again OD. I think it's cool to see tattoos go from sketch to a finished creation.

gonna get a little demon eh.

SkinnyPupp 06-21-2008 11:40 PM

It's like being married, but while you're married, you can divorce the sucker.

saucywoman 06-27-2008 01:52 PM

^^ that's why you get something that you know you won't regret when you're old

if your comfortable with your own body then you might as well go ahead and do what you want without regret

if i was financially set i'd have my whole back done, but thats a little too over the top at the moment lol

Thanks! My tattoo is based on 'Ronin'. Read here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronin

Basically I have been on my own without parents around since I was a teenager hence the 'masterless' meaning of Ronin. There is a deeper meaning but I like to keep that to myself.

Hondasport19 07-01-2008 08:30 AM

just taken after i got it done a few years ago:
