Thinking of transferring into computer science, can anyone tell me how the course load is? Have no programming background at all.

no comp sci background? gonna be tough imo. take cmpt165 as a feeler, its basically high school programming (html, javascript) + a few rather advanced stuff (python).

There's going to be the guys that ask you see your code. Don't be that guy. If you do find yourself needing to ask for your classmates' code, just ask what they did. It'll help you learn a lot more than him giving you lines of C++/Java.

Whenever this happens to me I just give them pseudocode.

I have nothing to add to what Messerschmitt said. The math courses are a pain in the ass.

This is pretty applicable to all majors, but don't resist to your professors' teaching style. Learn how he/she teaches and adjust to it. If you resist you're going to have a bad time.
Also, go to lectures.

And my group didn't even get back the exercise #4 yet, so I can't even start on that. Sent him and email on Saturday, and still haven't gotten a reply back. I did editing on the 1st portfolio which was the email and the spelling one. I also haven't received the instructions for the cover pages. My group members also didn't receive his email. I think what I will do is replace any cover pages that are in need of corrections. I will put cover pages on both the old unrevised work and the revised ones. Seriously, if it weren't for that nerdy looking kid ( no offense if that's you) in our class, we would have to submit our email submission # 2 in addition to our portfolio. I agree, this prof is so disorganized.

LOL no that guy isn't me, but I sit at the back too. I'm the same as you, I just start losing attention after awhile cause he just keeps on talking. And the handouts he gives us, I don't even look at them. I don't even understand this class anymore and I'm pretty sure everyone in that class just wants to get outta there as early as possible.
