InOut is awesome. For average size packages, it's slightly more than Shell but I'll pay a buck for the convenience any day. Went down at 9pm on Wednesday.

Border guy: "How long were you in Point Roberts?"

Me: "10 minutes."

Anyone have a referral link for 5d they could PM me?

AzNightmare 08-31-2015 03:15 PM

I'm about to use 5DPackages.
But I'm not sure where to put the PMB#.

Do I put it within my address? Or put it beside my Name?

John Doe
442 Peace Portal Dr.
PMB ####
Blaine, WA 98230
United States

or
John Doe - PMB ####
442 Peace Portal Dr.
Blaine, WA 98230
United States

I think the first method was in the website's example. But I'm trying to confirm do I just put it in the shipping address field? Or will putting the PMB# beside my name be just as effective?

I don't want my package to have issues because the PMB# isn't part of the real address or anything stupid like that.

I use the bolded method.

I used the first method (which was the website's example) and didn't have any problems.

I also texted 5D before I made my post in here. They said I can put the "PMB in either place, but usually with your name works best"

But in that case, I'll put it with my name. I was just concerned if whoever does the delivery noobs out because he didn't figure out the PMB# is not actually part of the address.

I made my order last night and they emailed me a NAFTA form. What is this and do I need to do anything with it??

Never received one of these before.

Basically says that you authorize them to receive your package.

Everyone using any carriers/shipping address needs to fill it out.

What is the maximum amount of goods one can bring back to Canada and not get taxed if you cross the border for less than an hour? So if I bring my friend along in my car, the allowable amount doubles?

If you go by the book, it's technically zero.

In my experience (although I go through Blaine mostly), it's around $200ish but it's really YMMV.

rJZx 09-17-2015 08:47 PM

I've brought back a brand new set of tail lights for my old s13 for $400+ without paying tax.

m3thods 09-17-2015 09:39 PM

It's all YMMV. I've been taxed on $200. I've been let go with $500+ worth of goods often. Just answer the questions and be precise with your declarations. The less vague you are the less time you need to spend at the booth.

inv4zn 09-18-2015 09:25 AM

^Best advice.

It really depends, but theoretically, it's 0$.

I've brought back $900 coilovers without paying, and then paid on a $110 set of knives.

Just whatever you do, don't lie.

It's for items made in the USA that fall under the North American free trade agreement(NAFTA), meaning duty free because it's made in the USA, which you show customs when importing into Canada.

syee 09-18-2015 03:51 PM

I'm surprised that they would send you a NAFTA form. You'd essentially have to fill in one of these for every item you bring over as the origin/manufacture location varies for each item.

Are you sure it's not the USPS form for delivery through an agent? I'm pretty sure they make everyone who delivers to any mail receiving place fill in one of these when they sign up. (http://about.usps.com/forms/ps1583.pdf)

I didn't have to fill in anything.
I printed the form and brought it with me when I went to pick up the item just in case I needed it.
But I was never asked by anyone to see it or anything, so I guess I can just ignore it.
