Anyone actually get their 5D MK II yet? Like their own personal one at home?

I got my hands on the 5DMII today at Akihabara. Don't like the shutter sound, and the camera isn't that great. Wasn't impressed at all!

I played around with a couple of expensive lenses though, the 85 1.2L and the famous 200 F2 <-- I WANT!!!! 830,000Y = 8,300 USD brand new.
At 2.0, the lens is UBER sharp still!

No post work at all!

You wern't impressed and all you can comment on is the sound it makes when you press the shutter??

What's up with what you dislike about the camera?
What do you typically shoot with.

Cheers,

He shoots with the 5D. The 5D mkII isn't really an improvement in speed or handling compared to the 5D, and the 21MP is way more than what you really need for most shooting scenarios.

The camera didn't feel all that great in my hands. Even though it was lighter by a little bit, it felt bigger and less ergonomic. The big screen and auto ISO is a nice touch.

I didn't get to much time with it, just 5 minutes.

I might not upgrade. Save some money for a 85 1.2 or a 200 F2

I got my pre-order 5D markII a month ago, and so far its been great!
Compare to 1Ds MarkII, the color isnt that accurate, nor as sharp, it sure aint as solid. But, its got faster processor, high iso range, huge screen, and lighter.
I do full time wedding photography, and 1Ds are just too heavy when I carry it over 13 hrs a day, and battery life arent that great either.
I think its a good upgrade if anyone is getting into full-frame SLR and its CHEAP
