Just drove from Burnaby to Downtown, no problems on the main roads, side streets where a bit of a mess but made it thru.

Saw a G37 stuck on Moscrop right before Boundary, such a tiny incline and he couldn't even make it up Moscrop. If you have RWD or one summer tires, do not drive today.

What a complete mess outside... fuck this I'm not going to work today.

And they said 5cm overnight? Horseshit! Way more than that out in Pitt Meadows, and it's still snowing hard

They revised their expected snowfall for Langley from 10cm to less than 1cm for overnight. Yeah... I just shovelled a good three inches off my car. And silly me believing the weather people might be right, I left all my snow gear in my car.

That said, I got my car high centered on my street this morning. Oh darn, can't make it into work. Hell, even the buses around my place aren't making it through.

Just one thing.... Performance Snow tires < Deep Tread Snow tires. And, unfortunately, I have the former.

15-25cm, but they say it's mixed snow and rain today, and more snow tomorrow.

I went to work and no one was there! Woot... snow day! My car had no problems traversing the deep snow on the side streets.

Got a good 3-4 inches here in East Vancouver. Just got done shoveling it, and it's definitely getting a bit wetter than it has been previously.

I made it into work. I'm not sure how people are supposed to buy cars when the employees can't even make it in lol.

I plowed the entire way there, clearing way for other lowered cars. There was a lowered Accord coupe following me whenever I would change lanes. I guess he was letting me do the dirty work. The commute from Surrey to Richmond was really slow. Snowing hard and I didn't see one plow on the way.

I'm not surprised at all. We only see snowfall a handful of times a year. Most times, it's barely a dusting. It would be wasteful on the city's part to buy a buttload of snow plows that would be sitting idle 51 weeks out of the year.

They probably just plow major roads and emergency routes so that critical services can do their job as efficiently as possible. Side roads are of minor concern.

However, that said, they should budget more, and perhaps contract out some of the plowing duties to contractors so it's not just one or two trucks trying to clear the entire Lower Mainland of snow. A lot of the side streets are becoming impassable just because of the sheer depth of the snow.

All I can say is, our company's "snowline" (that decides and then updates us when the centre is closed) is fucking useless.
