http://vancouver.weatherpage.ca/images/1px.gif http://vancouver.weatherpage.ca/images/8x8arrow.gif Synopsis. Issued Mar 15th, 9:51am http://vancouver.weatherpage.ca/images/1px.gif
An area of low pressure will remain roughly stationary in the Gulf of Alaska early this week. Meanwhile cold arctic air from Alaska is streaming down and rotating counter-clockwise around the low pressure system. As the cold air moves across the ocean it will pick up plenty of moisture and dump it on the coast. An area of low pressure is developing in this flow early this morning and heading towards the south coast of BC. Wet snow, mixed rain and snow, or rain will develop late this morning and we may see a few centimeters of snow before it changes over to rain. Winds will become quite strong during the afternoon and evening as winds rotate around this quickly developing low pressure system. Winds will likely be in the 60 to 80 km/h range late this afternoon and evening. On Monday and Tuesday an onshore flow of cool unstable air will keep showers and flurries in the forecast but we also have a possiblility of hail and thundershowers as well.

Anywhere close to Mundy Park is white. My parents' street is covered. I think I'll shovel their driveway on my way back home.

Stupid gay weather.

SumAznGuy 03-24-2009 06:21 AM

Up near the top of SFU, the flakes were the big cotton ball type. But once you start heading down the hill, it turns to rain pretty quickly. I think the freezing point is near 1000 ft above sea level.
