Go to A&W and get the animal burger! I believe its 6 patties, bacon, cheese. They used to put a hotdog on it and a fried egg.

And how much does it cost?

Or does it even still exist?

mako 12-31-2008 10:21 AM

is there such a thing as having too much meat on a burger?

i dont think i'll ever do a 'triple' at Harvey's again ... the meatyness was overwhelming

Damn you guys, making me all hungry. I think I'll stop by SOM today after work for a cheeseburger...

kchan 01-04-2009 08:31 PM

is there any decent kobe burger joints in vancouver ? :haha:

MyPresIzBlack 01-12-2009 01:03 AM

Burgers, etc. on Hastings has wicked BBQ food. IF you get their specialty burger it comes with a shitload of toppings that almost measure a half foot when topped.! Their bbq brisket and chicken are awesome too.

hamsup 01-12-2009 09:22 AM

ohhh i did see a menu somewehre that had kobe burgers... shit.. i forgot which restaurant !!

Liquid_o2 01-12-2009 09:50 AM

Milestones has Kobe Beef Sliders. I found them pretty good. You get 3 of them for like 9 bucks.

popnGEAR 01-12-2009 11:05 PM

I disagree on Burgers Etc.
I've been there a few times and NOTHING there is good....just average at best.
Memphis Blues does southern BBQ better and a tastier burger can be had at Moderne Burger

just tried the burger at Jean-Georges' MARKET in the Shangri-La and it was AMAZING. moist, flavourful, came with some crunchy onion rings for contrast. $14 worth every penny. also came with some thin shoestring fries which were... meh... but I let the burger drip all its goodness into them while eating and the fries were nicely improved after

just had a double cheeseburger from Harvey's

my belly is satisfied for the next 3 hours

The burgers at the Wallflower Modern Diner on Main Street are awesome. Fresh and juicy loaded with fresh condiments with your choice of different variations served with tasty thing-cut fries. Good environment, R&B Brewery beer on tap, $3.50 highballs and $5 doubles, friendly staff, chill-relaxed environment and not heavy on the wallet. :)

Not sure if any of you guys know but SOM is slated to close on March 14th if it doesn't find a buyer...

Owner Al DesLauriers is 78, and wants to retire. He quietly put the Save-on-Meats building at 43 West Hastings up for sale last year for $3 million, and may close the business down on March 14 if he can’t find a buyer.

I might make it a weekly thing to go with some buddies until it closes but I sure hope it stays open. It's definately an institution here in Vancouver. Also, with a little refurbishing of the inside, business will only go up once the Woodwards opens up.
