Don't understand why people get so excited about food and especially fine dining food. You eat, you shit it out. Haha. There goes your hard earned $$ that you worked many hours for.

HonestTea 01-05-2009 01:10 AM

Well this is the food thread. I won't argue about it. Let's just stick to the topic of dine out LOL.

has anyone tried Parkside Restaurant??

how was it?

Parkside is always a good choice, one of my "impress someone" restaurants. I am Actually heading there next weekend but not to impress this one lol just to eat.

I am not a huge fan of dine out, but a little disappointed to not see chambar on the list this year.

Hah! you just don't care because you get guys to pay for you. :(

But really, fine dining isn't worth it.

HonestTea 01-05-2009 02:12 PM

FUCKING HELL!

Chambar isn't on this year?!! That's gay... arghh

Was planning on going to Lumieres and Chambar this year...both of them aren't on the list damn...=/

Any recommendation guys? C? Nu? Parkside?

411ken 01-05-2009 02:36 PM

I don't know about you guys but I browsed through the big names and nothing seemed really good.. imo atleast.

FYI, Gastropod's Dine Out Vancouver menu starts on January 7th

All of those restaurants blow, especially gastropod because it's super pretentious, season's in the park is meh.

REMEMBER IF YOU ARE GOING TO A NICE RESTAURANT, JUST BECAUSE IT'S DINE OUT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S OKAY TO WEAR JEANS AND A FUCKING T-SHIRT OKAY?

m3thods 01-05-2009 05:09 PM

^^ Gold.

Any other good recommendations? I've no experiences with most of the restaurants. I'm a red meat person, and have tried Aqua Riva, Pinky's for their steak. I've made a reservation at Joe Fortes because I LOVE oysters and there's a steak entree too.

Life is too short!!! If I die, I cannot take my money with me. So I always try to enjoy the art of culinary to excite my taste buds.

Pinky's steak was pretty good, but not worth it imo. I wasn't feeling the caesar salad too (made with hearts, not chopped romaine). After alcohol and appies it was like 70 bucks. Thinking about it, not worth it. But it's good.

The only thing that eased the hit on the wallet? The "scenery", if you know what I mean :haha:

This was in Yaletown btw, so that part is pretty self-explanatory.

~designer_rice~ 01-05-2009 10:03 PM

Got: Quattro on Fourth, Yew, Il Guardino, Raincity Grill and Cobre

Don't go to C's!!!!!! I went there last year and the portions were so small!!!! Other standouts were Bacchus and CinCin's. My friend went to Gastropod before and it was good as well.
No Chambar!! :( I went last year and it was really good!!

p.s. Chinese New Year is on the 26th of this month. Chinese New Year Dinner at a Dine Out Restaurant???? heehee

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 01-05-2009 10:20 PM

Got reservations for The William Tell, it'll be my first time there, inputs anyone?

Trinity 01-05-2009 10:34 PM

Got reservations for Cin Cin (since I couldn't freaking get West... Anyone wanna SELL me their reservations? LOL), nu, and Seasons. They'll all be new restaurants for me!

phunky.FOB 01-05-2009 11:03 PM

since pinky's is 1st come 1st serve how long would you think wait would be??

miss_crayon 01-06-2009 12:20 AM

is lux any good?

Matsuda 01-06-2009 06:14 AM

My sister and I were looking into Lux also. Azia looked pretty good too. Gf and I booked at Aqua Riva so far.

CRS 01-06-2009 09:55 AM
