Guess...you havent heard or been to the restaurants of aka Sloane.

I dunno I regularly eat at Le Crocodile, Il Giardino, Cin Cin, Fraiche and the Blue Water and West is easily the most expensive restaurant.

It's easy to ring up half a g-note at West without really thinking about it.

Regular? You are truly baller then. West should not be a problem if you frequent these establishments. :p

Aside from Fraiche my Grandpa designed all of those restaurants and we know the owners so yeah we're regulars.

But even we don't like going to West because it's so freakishly expensive lol

:p I'm not cheap! I just like to save some money sometimes.

...But no, I'm not going to pay $250 for reservations. That's just stupid.

Do NOT go to Yokahama...that place is awful!

I'm thinking of Dockside and Kettle of Fish

Bonka 01-09-2009 01:24 AM

Dockside is garbage. Then again many restaurants on Dineout are.

Nope. Got a reservation already ;)

BlackZRoadster 01-09-2009 02:23 PM

^ lol i got reservations today too, i wanted to see what the fuss is about west.

I just checked out their normal menu about 20 for a appy, and 40 for a main? How do ppl rack up 500 on their bill or nearly close just on food?

If thats including wine, then thats a whole other story, i mean i could go to say seasons in the park, and other a 300 bottle wine and i can rack up 500 easily..

HonestTea 01-09-2009 02:40 PM

Lol how did you two get reservations so late in?

BlackZRoadster 01-09-2009 11:17 PM

^ i went to the website and it said reservations accepted, whereas it said sold out before. so i called to the restaurant and they found me one openeing, although its past 10, i guess i'll be going to 2 dineouts in 1 day

bbbj 01-10-2009 01:41 AM

Definitely going to regret Yokohama that place is fucking shit. Like literally it smells like shit, the food tastes like shit, it looks like shit, and sounds like shit. After you eat there you're going to have to take a shit.

Had a friend keep an eye out. She managed to get a reservation for 4 at a decent time and didn't get a chance to tell me until a few days ago.

I had a quick dinner there for new years and the meal was fine not wow by any means. If you compare their dineout menu to their normal menu its actually regular prices, If you pick certain combinations dine out is the same if not more expensive. Go on a normal day.

http://www.brownsrestaurantgroup.com...inner_menu.pdf
On the Normal Menu $28
- Sirloin Steak 7oz or Marinated Teriyaki Sirloin Steak 7oz, with a ceasar salad, your choice of tomato linguini or fettuccini alfredo. Finished with a scoop of chocolate ice cream in a silver dish.

2) West is not the most expensive restaurant in the city or the best; yes there has been a number of write ups saying that it is the best but unfortunately not everyone has the same taste.
I have been to West a handful of times, never for dine out but I did try their prix fix meal.
The food was good the service was impeccable but so were other meals I have had at other restaurants.
There are many restaurants that you can rack up the bill over 4 bills without going crazy on the alki So Trinity if you want a reservation at West, I can probably get a friend to sell you their for not 300 but how about 250? A special deal for you since you’re a RS regular lol.

Deon good choice with parkside and lux, if you want to hit up chambar sometime let me know. Good place and the owners are really nice. PS. I still dont see Ducky's on the drink menu, only on the computer!!! lol

if you guys go to chambar.. i am in as well... omg.. their beef tartar is to die for.. hahaha... well and their usual mussels are good too ! lol !!!!

i heard gastropod wasn't that great...

Personal experience wise....Hamilton Street Grill was not that good. I went during Taste of Yaletown and I thought the steak was just ok. I had asked for medium rare but when it was served it tasted a bit over done. The appetizer and dessert was defniitely better then my steak entree.

I am interested in trying Pinkys for dine out but since it's first come first serve I am not sure if it will be hard to get a table.

Any comments about Rex Rotisserie and Grill?
